Dear all
Apologies I'm sure this will have been covered elsewhere but I'm struggling to find it. Regarding daily BS tests. Other than my first day (and today) I've been avoiding taking readings first thing in the morning. This was really to save lancets/strips because I didn't have many...
Good morning people. OK, I’ve noticed that less than deep red Blood sample gives high reading on my Test strips. For example:
Low “Red” Blood = 10.3
Normal “Red” Blood = 7.4
Is this Low Red colouration more serum/plasma than Red blood cells? Does more or the Glucose reside in the serum/plasma...
Has anyone ever experienced large gaps in readings? The last 3 days I've had pretty big gaps in my readings. Usually at the same time as well. The gaps tend to start right after I scan before going to bed and then resume around 5am. Sometimes the gap is short and less then an hour but other...
Hi guys
I measured my blood sugar about 45 minutes after eating a heavy dinner using my mom's glucose meter (I am not diabetic, or this is what i think!). On the first reading i got 1.27 g/l. Right after that i tested again and i got 1.37. I immediately tested again and got 1.47, i checked...
Hi,
So I'm a parent of a wonderfully resilient 8-year-old girl diagnosed six-months ago and several times we've had significant differences in blood glucose results taken within just a minute or so of each other. (Definitely nothing to do with sugary fingers!)
I've been reading up about the...
My blood test meter gave me a higher than usual reading today.
I have type 2 and was diagnosed in January 2015. I control it with a keto diet. I have taken to checking my blood every morning since I moved to France and the health service here provides me with a meter. I am usually between 4.6...
I'm a newly diagnosed Type 2 but I am trying and slowly getting to grips with things but please tell me; why if I have a meal one day, it gives me one blood sugar result and a week later, exactly the same meal gives me a totally different reading?
I'm cutting my carbs down but last week, had a...

Hello everyone,
My son started using his libre sensor just two days ago. He started taking antibiotics a day before that. The leaflet that comes along with the antibiotics said that the antibiotics might cause false, increased, urine and blood glucose readings. The libre constantly suggests...
Hey there, I'm 19 and have been unknowingly experiencing hypoglycemia for quite a while now.
Things changed last year around February time.
Very suddenly, after an hours drive I didn't have the energy to even get out of the car and my then partner (Type 1 Diabetic) took the liberty of testing...
Hi guys - was wondering if any Freestyle Libre users experienced the following??..... Was given a freestyle libre yesterday and basically rushed home to set it up and start using so as to save my finger tips dying a slow and painful death!! After following the instructions to the letter and...

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, and pretty much to everything blood sugar measuring related. Tonight at home we're in front with a very rare case and I would really appreciate your insight.
My girlfriend is 34, she was just diagnosed with dysautonomia and inappropriate sinus tachycardia 8...
Anyone know why the blood sugar readings fluctuate so much.. i went from 6.4 to 9.3 to 6.9 in a matter of 30 mins all in a fasted state from just waking up. Yeah i did 3 tests and my fingers are sore from poking holes in them, but makes me question the accuracy of these monitors
In order to come off metformin (need to get doctorial permission, I do understand that,) you need to get your BG readings low-ish, right? into more normal levels, yes?
So that means loosing the weight.
(I also know that this might not work at all, and I might therefore be on drugs forever...
