I’ve asked my surgery the same question in preparation for our upcoming meeting recdiabetes care. Will let you know what if anything is forthcoming.Any publicity is good publicity they say! If it gets diabetes discussed it's good in my book. We all look so well. I love this photo. It shows just how far we have all come on this journey. I hope the PR exercise will work well for us and for helping to make changes. The plan is to be on BBC news within 12 months. There are already members of the forum who are managing to get the LCHF word out there in various ways, radio, magazine articles and newspapers. It's fantastic.
This week I'm on a mission to get stats. After my dr told me I would have had the same results with lowering hba1c to non diabetic levels with a low fat/ low cal diet I aaked my gp surgery to confirm just how many pts had actually done it. It appears I'm the only one apart from post bariatric surgery patients!!! This does not support my Drs statement but reaffirms they are still dishing out wrong advice.
So today I'm writing to nhs England under the freedom of information act 2000 in the hope that they can provide me with the stats I need. I'm going to see what they come back with. If I don't get any joy I'm going to email every local gp surgery for their stats. I think we all know what the results will be but I want it in writing. Building up a case.
Great- thanks @bulkbikerI’ve asked my surgery the same question in preparation for our upcoming meeting recdiabetes care. Will let you know what if anything is forthcoming.
I did mention it.Did you get chance to feed that nack to them @Rachox and @caroline_92 ? Sounds like it needs a tweak.
Gosh another only one in the practice! You’ve got to hope that numbers increase!@Debandez
Gave letter into surgery last week asking for stats. Got a phone call this afternoon from Rachel, Nurse asking why I wanted this information. I explained and she told me that they do not have this information as I am the only patient to have put my diabetes 'into remission'. She then quizzed me on how I had achieved my result, she got told. Rachel said she will get back to me and is going to look on this site.
I had contact from the surgery - they would like to see me next April - yes - seven months from now - to check on my diabetes.
Perhaps something about my progress is sinking in - or maybe they just want to go on about taking statins again.
not before time...Lots of bad press about statins around at the moment. More than usual.
Oh my goodness, the Independent. A fantastic paper. Good luck for this afternoon. Not that you will need it. You are a wonderful advocate. I will add that to the ever growing list of PR successes once you give me the go ahead. Maybe it needs it's own thread. What do you think. So we can add links in for all to see. That could also inspire others. @Rachox @shelley262 your thoughts appreciated.@Debandez the diabetes.co.uk press office have put me in touch with a journalist from the Independent. Due to talk to her this afternoon. Will let you know how it goes.
Still haven’t given all the stuff to the nurse at my practice - keep having to move my non-urgent appointment. It will get done!

We are in it together. I couldn't have done Birmingham without all the support. Just waiting to hear from the PR team on where it is all going getting message out. Nobody better to do it than diabetics themselves. I've got an all expenses paid trip to London in the pipeline for 5th October. A magazine article and Photoshoot. I'm going to be singing from the rafters!!!! Hoping This Morning (and/or similar tv) comes off. That would be wonderful. We are getting there!@Goonergal that’s great! Hope all goes well.
It really does look like the message is getting out there.
@Debandez what a brilliant job you’re doing, your energy and enthusiasm are really infectious. Great Stuff!
