Does anyone else eat lentil pasta off so how do they find it for carbs my daughter is vegetarian and loves it but worried it might be too many carbs

I'm fine with lentils, they dont toutch me. Amount of carbs don't seem to matter for, they type is important.

Everyone is different, eat and test is the best way

Is your daughter a diabetic and, if so, what type?

eta: as I understand it, carb amounts are less of a problem for insulin users.

I find it too high, I can have small amounts of pulses but not that much.
I tested before and two hours after meals for every meal at first, and then every time I ate a new food, to check what I can eat and how much.
I doubt I'd have got into remission without testing. so much at first. Now I just test one day a week, first thing in the morning and then before and after one meal, to check my blood sugar is still well controlled.

Farrowlily - does your daughter have problems with her blood sugars at all?

I've tried lentil pasta and it seems to only have a moderate effect.
However it isn't quite like "real" pasta so I decided it was pointless.

Lentils I seem to be OK with mostly.

My wife occasionally cooks a 'spag bol' using black bean pasta.
I don't recall (right now) how high the carbs are, but my carb intake is between 20gms to a max of 50gms per day - so per portion the carbs in the black bean pasta she gets must be quite reasonable or I wouldn't be eating it at all!

I have a tried and tested technique with these things.

1. Empty the packet into a colander and rinse carefully under a COLD tap.
2. Shake dry.
3. Pour a freshly boiled kettle of water over the noodles, still in the colander.
4. Either boil in fresh water for 6 mins, or microwave for 3 mins, in a few tablespoons of water.
5. Drain, pat dry with a clean tea-towel or kitchen paper then place carefully in the bin.
