Did my 40 mins walk, haven't done my physio exercises 'cos I don't like them.

My normal routine today of 1 minute plank, 4 beginner burpees, 30 minute walk and 10 minute row.

Too hot too sleep and all that noisy thunder, so out early in the deluge. 40 mins swimming followed by 30 mins water exercise. Fun dodging the kids jumping in the deep end. Not so much fun having to help pull one to the surface who shouldn't have been in the deep end. She was ok, and I had been looking for away to extend my exercises. So happy enough.
Just checking for exercises using resistance bands. Irresistible!

....thunderstorms most of the night here, love the thunder but am a bit of a wuss with the lightning....its been peeing it down all morning but a break an hour ago so went for a 45 minute walk as the air had cleared, refreshing....now have a thumpy headache which always happens when a storm is due but at least I've got it done...:)

It would have been a bit messy if you had dropped the trifle.
The real trick was to get enough ups and downs before you'd finished it.

Bit like life really...

My GP knows I see the physio, so I am bemused as to why he wants me to see the health trainer. Will have to see her as I am curious and trying to keep an open mind.
I'll bet she's a youngish woman/man (depending on the age and orientation of your Doc of course) the Doc was chatting up at a medical Cheese and Whine party the other night.

I used to get a bit bolshy with the physio I mentioned previously.

One particular exercise blew my gasket. From a kneeling position she wanted me to put my backside on the floor outside my legs. I erupted and told her to show me. She couldn't, so we didn't bother with that again.

Not sure I would have treated a National Health physio the same way - respect for the system. Although, with a couple of outstanding example they have always been a bit of a shower. I was at the spinal unit at Lodge Moor, Sheffield from April '90 through to August '90 and two or three days before I was discharged, a gang of physios (minus one of the good ones) carried on about the fact I had,'t been to Occupational therapy. I didn't think I needed to - I had a job so I used the time to practice using the wheelchair as they taught every morning and later walking. Bit late to tell me I'd missed something.

Well done peacetrain,
Did my usual two twenty minute dog walks, and had a very active afternoon in the garden - strimming and hedge cutting. My bingo wings have definitely been challenged today!:D

A bit slacking today, just some planking/burpees and 10 minutes on the rower. Lifted the remote control and a wine glass up and down a few times.

Oh dear @zand. What is so awful about the physio stuff?
It's so boring, so I only remember them when I am in pain and need to do them. I have done them today though and a 35 min walk and a 7 second plank. Didn't do anything yesterday apart from go to Tesco's twice and B&Q 'cos I didn't feel able to do anything else.

Ah, regional difference in title I think. Where I live health trainers are sort of personal trainers who devise individual programmes for people with health conditions, or just those who want/need to make improvements to their health. I tried to get in touch with them a few years ago to assist me in setting up a community group for people who were not accessing sport due to obesity and the related problems. They were very elusive. Lots of talking the talk, not much action. We ended up setting up the group without their input, and it is something I am proud of achieving, as many people who would not step foot inside the sport centre have become as fanatical as I am about water based exercise. Some have surpassed expectations and use the gym. (My nemesis)!
So, i will go see the health trainer at GP's request. Apparently, they have vouchers to offer free slimming club and cookery classes. Happy to keep an open mind about exercise suggestions, but will try to behave if cooking is suggested, as I have inside info that they are the usual carb with every meal variety. Depending how I feel I may go along and like @Scandichic inform the other participants about LCHF and Newcastle diets etc.

Oh and the health trainer I am booked with is female, so I will carry on being happy with the hunk i have at home.

Respect to you for setting that up. I know only too well how much of a challenge it can be to get more than just voices of support for what you're trying to do.
Hats off to you girl - that's an amazing achievement!

I get the impression that your 'health trainers' are linked with the health service. I was thinking of personal trainers in their independent capacity. Having said that my husband reminded me of someone we know who specialises in fitness training for people with disabilities and injuries, and she works for the NHS - so maybe that's the same thing?

How are you getting on? Are you going to get a body board?Bx

Oh, I know zand. I do them to stop getting too much pain, but they don't seem to have worked today.
Hope you feel better today.
