@porl69 Ooooh, I just watched someone applying a Libre on a dog!!! They applied it right behind the shoulder blades and then they put a dog t shirt on so they couldn't remove it as easily. Plus some crazy glue to hold it on.

Thank You! I will have to check on this now!

Really @porl69? Do you know where she applied it and how she managed to get it to stay on? I could more easily give her corrections if I saw her BGs changing. We test her one to two times a day. I will have to search for it!! Thanks!

I will see if I can find the story now....give me 5.....................

Morning all, nice lie in before I head back to South Wales. Currently drinking coffee in the garden with the idiot Newfoundland. Bloods horrible (double figures) overnight, have switched programmes on Loop to handle hormones. Down to a nice 5.3 now.

Not much to report, have a lovely day, friends.

I just googled 'dog with freestyle libre' and it resulted in quite a lot of pictures.

Now my dogs BG's have shot up and I have no idea why...................argghhh. She does this off and on for no apparent reason I can figure out most of the time.

I think @JoKalsbeek has a diabetic cat, maybe she has ideas. I know a dog is not a cat but I think treatment is usually quite alike.

Another warm day, I hope everyone isn't melting. BG was 5.8 before lunch, so I had a light lunch and laundry is washing away.

@Marie 2 thanks for that, I can't imagine having to deal with a dog with diabetes, it's bad enough looking after me! I admire the effort it must take. I've also watched the video @porl69 put up; I don't like the idea of using superglue on a dog and how the heck do you get the sensor off? I wondered whether the difficulty she had removing the applicator was due to any superglue seeping out or the waiting 30 seconds, was that just for the superglue?

How are they treating her diabetes? Hug.

Afternoon, just got home after a four hour drive through mid Wales. I seem to have got stuck behind every tractor in Powys! Longest wee ever when I got in :D Sugars nice and smooth too, now I’ve got the settings right for the week. Chilling with a big mug of hot marmite and catching up.

Yup. Big spoon of marmite melted in boiling water. Lovely hot savoury drink. I was a bit coffee-d out by that point.
Wow. I'm going to try this now. Marmite in boiling water. That's yum. My basal didn't work today. I think the heat got to it. I've started a new vial and divided my evening dose, taking some now. I'm covering the next 4 hours with FA.

Roasting up some chick peas again tonight, my mouth is watering as I'm watching the oven. Don't mind if I eat the entire 250grams of chick peas. At this rate I'm thinking is hummus a chick peas smoothie? :hilarious::hilarious:

@hh1, yea the superglue was kind of, can I get it off again???
But another mentions that because of hair growth they start to come off easily. But then another mentions using Skin Tac or a simpatch and I like the Skin Tac idea as that is what I use for my Dexcom and it's not hard to peel off.

@ert I use Novolin N twice a day and humalog for any adjustment dosing. We test her right before her big meals and the trick is to be consistent with what she gets. I aim for between 100-150 which is what my doggie internist originally recommended. A lot of vets actually recommend between 150-250. A normal dogs is between 80-120.

I believe the majority of people with pets don't either test regularly or maybe not at all? (dogs and cats are not always very cooperative about it for one) The GP vet was surprised when we told her we test twice a day or at least once if she is being consistent. My dog is cooperative with a treat after. As soon as she sees the meter she comes up and sits. Same with shots, I am lucky!!!!

Before my dog developed diabetes I actually knew 2 people that had diabetic dogs. And another 3 that had had them in the past.
