Morning everyone, first day back at work...........loving it! :D:***:

New years day was spend at my brothers, kept pushing in load after load of insulin to counter act the curry and beer - failed miserably but had a good time - I've no idea how many carbs I consumed obviously (a lot!) more than I thought AND I stayed off the Quality Street, the Roses and the Heroes. :(

So this Alexa device I got for my wife gets wierder...

I get called into the bedroom yesterday evening & my wife says listen to this.. "Alexa, sing a doggy song."

Now I just managed to find a reasonable recording of it on YouTube..

Did some Amazon contracted "voice artist" actually have to enter a studio & record this pile of dog's.. (She pretty much did! There is a whole list of breeds.)

She ain't no Julie Andrews..

Strangely, this also coincides with "Walk your dog month" https://nationaltoday.com/walk-dog-month/

I had absolutly no idea..!?

Just keep an eye out for cyclists hammering down the canal foot path & Tweeting pedestrians out there..

& don't forget the poop bags..!

Hello friends, diabetes not bad here, I was 7.5 this morning and unfortunately my vegan protein shake shot me up to 14.8, despite it being 20g of carbs. I think mornings are the most difficult time for my BG, takes forever to come down and I’ve only managed to get it to 5.5 now.
My script has been approved my GP so I should be getting vials soon. :)

Ditched carbs in the morning about 18 months ago (used to love shredded wheat and cold milk ☹️) and have never looked back. Eat 100g full fat Lidl’s Greek yoghurt and 80g raspberries every day. Works out at 10 carbs. Take 3 units if under 6 and 4 units if above. Take the insulin before getting out of bed and wait 20 mins before eating (Fiasp) Numbers rise above 8 some mornings, but on the whole stay level. It makes the rest of the day less of a fight. I then eat about 2 (3 today) and do not eat til breakfast the following day. It has revolutionised my management. Still drink and eat carbs, but only in those two meals. Unless having a hypo of course.

Last time I saw Bon Jovi live was back in 1989? He struggled a bit..

Who knew a chirpy dusty bin could help him out..

Notching up the level of the carbs guessing game a bit tonight :)
Didn't feel like shopping but opted for a mystery meal from the freezer, figuring I'd recognize it after it had thawed. Well, it has thawed now but still doesn't look or smell familiar. I'm guessing it is something to go with rice, which I don't have, so I'll eat whatever it is on it's own. Before it was thawed I thought it was an Eastern-Europe inspired saurkraut dish, but it appears there is no saurkraut, so can't be that.
Good thing my main freezer rule is that nothing goes in if it didn't taste real good!

I had a splendidly yummy hummus followed by equally yummy slice of cheese cake for lunch out today. I think I both under estimated the carbs and my enthusiasm for walking home with a heavier than anticipated back pack full of shopping. Just coaxed the resulting high back into a reasonable number before bed!
