Type 2 Life

Good Morning, my friends,

I had a good day yesterday and cooked pork and rice. This morning my blood glucose reading was 5.7. Hopefully getting my Sky Broadband back in my flat tomorrow...yaaayyy!!!!

Have a lovely day, my friends, nothing to report. Please stay cool in this heatwave.

Much love and best wishes to you all.

@KevinPotts

Great news Kevin I know not everyone reacts the same to the same things, but I would love to see your daily food diary over the last 3 months and copy your fasting regime. You are very lucky having a GP that seems to understand and support your diet. Mind you, you are the one that has researched, tried, tested, stuck with it when it was tough, persevered when you probably fancied a treat. It's a superb testament to your patience and determination to succeed. Well done Kevin. Please publish consider publishing your journey in detail

I'm out for the weekend, but will try and get a sample down as 3 months is a lot:)

@JohnEGreen - Already take Omeprazole (can take 2 a day), Consultant prescribed me last week Vit D Supplement in the form of drops to be taken with food. And have been taking Furosemide for about a month now, because I have odema in my ankles and also Ascites (fluid) in my Abdomen. I have had Fibroscan, Ultrasound Scan and the Liver Specialist thinks(?) I have a 'blocked' Artery to my Liver.. I am to undergo a MRI Liver Scan with Contrast Dye next week.
But, if these side effects have not ceased by the weekend, I am going to stop the Prednisolone and restart my Tramadol and/or Pregabalin for my Arthritis.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for that. I think even a week or two would be great. It's a pity you don't have myfitnesspal as you can share diaries on there. Enjoy the weekend I'm sure you are celebrating!

@KevinPotts Gongratulations Kevin, happy for you. Would appreciate seeing your food diary for past 3 months, see if I can pick up any tips or learns from you. Thanks have a great day

one day without painkillers and OH is in agony . Roll on next Friday.

@liam1955 Would advise not to just drop the preds without talking to doctor I know you have not been on the very long but to get down to 15mg a day took me months as they have to be stepped down gradually. I have suffered many of the sideeffects of preds but without them My life would be a living hell as my neurologist said to me T2D is less dangerous than MG so I will just have to accept the side effects it's weighing up the pros and cons.

Again @JohnEGreen Thank You for your Advice, - You are absolutely right and I should know better. I went for a lay down at 3pm this afternoon because I felt zapped of energy, next thing I woke up and it was 6pm and I was starving. If I can just sleep through all the ****** side effects I would feel much better.
As my Partner has said: I am decreasing to 15mg on Saturday and so I think I will continue taking the Prednisolone. Thank You .:) William.

Good afternoon, to all participants of the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I had an awesome day what with munching on marmite sandwiches, drinking robinson's orange squash and visiting friends in my neighbourhood as well as making coffees for friends in my flat. My fasting blood glucose this morning was 6.6 mmol.

I spoke to my care coordinator who has been liaising with my financial guardian and sky satellite tv personnel over getting my bill paid and broadband put back on. she said no direct debit can be set up due to all direct debits and standing orders being archived from my frozen bank account so giro slips will be sent to my flat and the understanding is that my care coordinator will accompany me to the post office to pay the bill. when its all paid only then can my services be reinstated. they are aware that I am a highly vulnerable adult and that I need this input.

Evening peeps. Exhausted and glad it's the weekend. I have been diagnosed with a chest infection and on Amoxycillin 500mg for 10 days. Worked late yesterday and today to make up for the morning I took off to see the doc. If my temperature goes back above 38C or get severe breathlessness then I've to go to A&E or call 111/999. Don't feel that bad but tired and don't think this weekend is going to be action packed lol. I keep getting infections easily and it is pi**ing me off big time. FBG 8.1 mmol/l :)
