Type 2 Life

Does anyone remember cabana bars? They were like a bounty bar but with bits of tropical fruit in. The 80's throw back... i might have got the name wrong, but not the memory. Mmmmm. Obviously I was little then, ahem.

I remember Cabana Bars @Gravity-Carb. Loved em. They were chocolate covered coconut & caramel with pieces of glacé cherry in them. Sounds hideous, but were delicious. I think that we're showing our age now. After all I'm only 35 + VAT! ;)

it seems like so long ago....
5.6 am
bit high but okay pour moi.
half day holidays this week..... child care issues.... the lack of.
Looking good out the window this morning, good day chums

5.3 FBG and been to see the DSN. Metformin has been stopped completely - she was very impressed with my weight loss. She asked if I was still using the Diastix I'd been prescribed when I did my DESMOND course. The whatstix from the who course? Told her I've never been offered any courses or monitoring equipment, not even diastix, and she just said it didn't matter since I've obviously figured it all out for myself. Whilst this may be the case, I do think I might have got here earlier with a little more help ... I'm so glad I found this forum and all you lovely people!

Ok, here is one for everyone to decide which reading?

5.8 from my new Accu-Chek Mobile and 6.8 & 7 from my Accu-check Aviva Nano test strips x 2

I know which reading I want to use, what a difference!! My morning readings have been elevated since cracking open a new box of test strips exp 31-05-2016.... I've been blaming sore throat, bad nights sleep, PMT I wonder if it is the batch of test strips? diet & exercise have been consistent :meh:

I don't remember the caramel, but it was probably all part of the joy.

5.8 today; a weird morning today as I woke up in plenty of time to get ready, test, eat and leave... but a time continuum thingy (technical) happened and I looked at the clock and had to hustle for the train with only 500ml of water consumed and no testing..... Got to the Royal Institute in time, however BS was at 5.8.... I'll take that.

Just now ordered a pot of camomile tea and scrambled egg on toast, with the view of only eating 1 or 1/2 a slice... I ate only the 1 slice with the egg then in 15mins, I have started feeling odd. Side-eyeing my plate I thinking ahh they might have used regular diary in the scrambled egg (lactose intolerance and the extra sugars is just BS) and the white bread is very rare occurrence in my life. Tested as soon as I felt odd and 5.5 mmol...... so must be the white bread/lactose reaction.

White Bread is Crack.

Just my Type2 musings

My view on this is pretty clear. Because of the standards our meters are required to meet, the fact is your true reading is probably about 6.3 to 6.5.

One of your meters would seem to be biased towards the low end and the other to the high end of the tolerances they are allowed.

So I would say don't worry too much about the differences between the two meters but concentrate on looking at the trends you are seeing in the numbers from one (or both if you wish) of them.

Do they both use the same strips?

I have certainly seen step changes when opening a new box too. I use the SD Codefree meter.

Do you have a calibration check fluid? If so it might be worth running it on both meters to get an idea of what is happening.

I know the dairy thing I have CMA cows milk allergy so dairy is out for me too. I ask them not to use milk or I take my own and ask for that to be used. Just stick to beans on toast or boiled egg.

4.8 fasting today. I'm sooo tired though. Don't know why. Have a good day folks. Stay well. X

Can never decide where to post. Deep joy. X
