Type 2, diagnosed 5th Oct 2015, metformin, diet and exercise - working fantastically.
Breakfast - bacon and one pastizzi ( a street snack from Malta)
Lunch: Pea and ham soup
Dinner: pork chop with green beans and chilli flakes (helps burn fat)
snacks: cheese and nuts
drinks: black coffee, water and a tiny swig of cranberry juice (keeps the gout under control)
Is it working:
I used to have high blood pressure - it is now 102/76. Resting heart beat 60.
Blood sugar 7.8 but I have just finished a 45 min treadmill session. It will be back down to 6 soon.
weight loss from 143 kg down to 112kg (so far)
Waist loss 6 inches so far.
Motivation: FEAR, staright up. I am not betting beach ready. I just want to see my kids grow up.
Breakfast today consisted of grilled black pudding, two eggs and a slice of granary bread, a cup of tea and, sometime later, a cup of coffee from roast ground beans, unsweetened and black. 500 mg Metformin, 120 mg Gliclazide and now a meter reading of 10.2. Should I be worried?
