Thank you - just shows I still have more to learn in how to control my BS levels.Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Hugs to you.
I've dropped cheese, nuts and cream. Oh and pork scratchings to go low carb low fat. I'm losing nicely now.
9.1 today. Not sure why, 8.4 yesterday, 7.8 the day before. Averaging 110g carbs, down from 380g 3 weeks ago.
9.1 ate a lot of carb yesterday
Thanks for the response. I did wonder whether the warm nights and restless sleep might have an effect. My recent numbers certainly don't put me off, I believe what I'm doing will have benefits in the long run, if not there are always more carbs to reduceThis is the great mystery that only your liver can explain, and for some reason it has decided to dump more glucose into you over the past couple of days. I've been the same for over a week now after feeling under the weather, I guess all we can do is to carry on low carbing and exercise and wait for it the come down
Just a thought but it may have something to do with the warm nights, I know I've been uncomfortable for the past couple of night and not sleeping very well
I used them on lchf but family ate crisps at same time. It replaced the 5 pieces of fruit i used to eat every day.Must have been hard letting the pork scratchings go!!
Too much protein? They turn my bgs high.9.1 today. Not sure why, 8.4 yesterday, 7.8 the day before. Averaging 110g carbs, down from 380g 3 weeks ago.
Just checked and my protein intake the last couple of days was 163 and 154g. Is that a lot?Too much protein? They turn my bgs high.

Only in comparison to carbs. If 100g carb then protein should be lower unless your going for a high protein diet. Protein is to maintain your muscles and tendons etc.. If you want to increase mass in the muscle higher protein is advised. Less muscle mass and less weight = less protein. You need enough protein to either maintain what you have or reduce heavy muscle mass which isn't needed. Remember muscles store glucose too not just the liver. Bigger the muscles more glucose stored and then dumped at a later date.Just checked and my protein intake the last couple of days was 163 and 154g. Is that a lot?
