Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

G'Day from Montreal. I woke to a BG of 5.3 mmol/L this a.m. (06:30) after a pre breakfast 3km run. Pleased, because it was probably in the upper 4's before my run.

When I test my I do it after I have taken my tables just before breakfast . It that still a fasting test.

Technically it is. Most people try to do it as soon as possible before the body changes to active.
That said, there are rhythms that can play a role.
Best to be consistent with fasting tests.

Yes, that's more than likely so, but it would be nice to know.

Most of us on this FBG thread for type 2s test as soon as we're awake. Given that you don't run 3km every morning before breakfast, testing as soon as you wake would be the easiest way to ensure your FBG tests were all performed under the same conditions. As @hankjam says above, best to be consistent, Your results would then give you a bench mark for day to day comparison.

Not sure if I recorded FBG yesterday anyway it was 12.4 and this morning 11.2 not good numbers but definitely a downward trend fingers crossed .
