You may need to eat something low carb to trigger an insulin response which get processed into organs and muscles to give you energy. What is in your soup? If carb based then your just topping up your insulin resistance.Up to 8.5 the day after I posted this and still not had a good night sleep.Had just fluids (water & tea no sugar) and soup yesterday but also go a cough now
don't no what else to do other than ride out the cold and see if BG drops.

Drink plenty of no carb drinks and low carb meals (3) to provide the nutrients to attack your bug. Multivitamins can assist in such cases.
Avoid soups out of tins. Full of salt and will definitely be greater than 10g carb per 100g.Many thanks ickihunYes need to try and eat more and low carb it at that, see what I can find but just got out a bed as I've been knocked for 6 with this one. So much for the flu jab they pestered me to get, since having that I've had two bouts of bad cold and never did I get colds before!!!!
My soup was baxters scotch broth, maybe should have been chicken soup? I do take multivitamins and turmeric tablet twice a day

Hot drinks will be more beneficial. Sugar free painkillers for sore throat and temperature. Have you heard of cheese soup?
Everyone is different. Healthy people still get colds. Diabetics used to suffer more due to sugar in cough medicines and lozenges and sugar coated ibuprofen. Which the ibuprofen tablets are still coated. Sugar free kids meds work well.No cheese soup is a new one on me i'll look it up, a friend went to the chemist for me some night nurse and he told her although there is some glucose in the tablet this would be better than the one you drink and as a couple of doses only i should find some relief at night until my cold has run it's course. I'm taking other medications so he's said not too much you see, i'm just wondering though if having diabetes means my immune system will take it's time in sorting this out
Blimey, "The verdict of the world is conclusive". Thought provoking for 7.08 on 1 January!!4.8 this morning.
