Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Recently diagnosed type 2. Have so far taken two readings....one a few days ago after a meal and chocolate bar = 11.1. One after 9 hours fasting = 10.1 which surprised me, I'd been hoping for 5 something. Not on meds as trying to control via diet....need to sort out my sweet tooth pdq!

Hello and welcome to this fasting blood glucose [FBG] thread for type 2s. We're pleased you could join us.
Most type 2s here test as soon as we get out of bed because BG levels rise once we start to move around.
