Broke the 60kg barrier - now down to 59.8kg. (Thank to prednisolone tablets + high glucose + moderate ketone levels to cause 1.7 kg weightloss on day 1 when I started on prednisolone.)

I've finished Day 5 prednisolone yesterday but not going to check the weight until next week.

The weight loss sounds good (assuming you want to be lower than 60kg, I assume you aren't particularly tall) but commiserations on the high bg and having to take steroids. I hope you aren't at risk of DKA?

I wish I was tall in height, but my height is a shortie... hoping to get to around 50kg to 55kg range for maintenance the weight.

I do get early signs and symptoms of DKA but not into the stage where it ends up more severe symptoms of DKA when on steroids. But yes if I do end up severe symptoms of DKA - deffo will go to hospital immediately.

It is bit of hassle esp when gotta eat something ie lowest carbs and protein meals of 10 grams unfortunately with being on steroid - kick up after meals glucose too high as well. So I can't win either way esp I'm not on other diabetes medications. (Intolerance, allergic and bad side effects from Type 2 Diabetes Oral medications.)

Only diabetes medication I'm taking is Ozempic to keep my diabetes manageable. But the ozempic won't work when I'm steroids to manage diabetes.

Thankfully I'm doing okay now as haven't had any more steroids... unless another bush fire smokes in the air happens - this triggers my asthma.

I've read thru this thread for couple of days... everyone has done very incredible work to lose their weight. Well done to you all.

Before Diabetes my biggest weight was 92.1kg in 2020.

Diagnosed Diabetes back in 2021: 90.1kg.

Until I caught my first Covid+ on late 2022: my weightloss went down fast and still on-going. (My immune system have been attacking my body since then and on-going. There is positive antibody detected in my blood.)

Today is now down to 58.8 kg.

It is pretty sucks for invisible illnesses over 2 years and 3 months... and the new gifts from Covid keep on giving.

69.3kg. Expecting to gain a kilo (at least) before next week but very happy to have two weeks running under the magic 70kg.

My weight has actually stabilised since I was
diagnosed T2 in January this year, at 99kg plus
or minus 250g from day to day.

I put this down of course to a more restrictive,
healthier diet.

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
Up 2.5lbs. Everything up the pole for sure. 224.0

I've noticed people here talking about their weight sometimes being
up or down by 3 or 4 ounces (approx. 100g) from day to day, and
indicating some undue interest or concern about this.

Anyway, it's normal for a person's weight to fluctuate by 1-2kg
(or 2.2-4.4 pounds) daily, primarily due to water retention, food
and drink intake, and bowel movements. Medicos say that a weekly
weigh-in is more than adequate to gauge your health from a weight
perspective.

So... yuckiness to follow... :yuck:

How much does your poop weigh? In a research study, investigators
found that you might produce 125g to almost 170g of stool per day,
or around 5 to 6 ounces. That's a contributing factor to daily weight
fluctuations right there!

Down 2.6 this week. I'll take it! I've been bouncing around the same pound or two for a while so it's nice to see a bigger drop.

Interestingly (or not LOL) my T2 seems to have controlled
my weight. This time last year—pre-diabetic—I weighed
105kg and today it's 98kg. I dunno whether it's a side
effect of the meds or a slight change in my dietary intake
or a combo of both? Although I'm not actively seeking to
lose any weight... but I guess I should be!

Not having any drugs as hoping to put the T2 in to remission now at the end of month one of three of Total Diet Replacement TDR feeling great 18.6Kgs down after cutting out all rubbish at the end of Jan before starting TDR. On down fall wallet is screaming, had to buy new clothes as everything hanging like a sack of spuds .
