They look like they will be strong tasting as they are quite dark green but actually they’re very mild and dont take much cooking. I think the fact that they are not available all year round, and really are seasonal is another thing that appeals. I got mine on a market stall but I have seen them in Sainsburys on occasion.Feel a bit ignorant but don’t know what you mean by Brussels tops? Is it the bits you normally trim off?now Feel I may be putting best bit in the compost?
Choc log end just dispatched by OH I just had a taste.
Will let you know date of publication of simply you when know she had to talk to editor but did say she’d notify me as soon as she knew.
Edited to add just researched tops @DJC3 and now I know they are the leaves/ rose at top of the Brussels sprout plant why have I never seen them? Must now start looking for them in veg shop. Thanks for highlighting these x
@Brunneria
Where do you get your pomegranate molasses / syrup? The only place I've seen it for sale is in a Turkish supermarket in Sheffield.
Ive had it in Sainsburys
Thanks for that - very interesting - I'll have a look there for it when we run out. I prefer Mr C not to go to the Turkish shop in Sheffield because he gets more than a bit carried away there.
@Brunneria
Is it this one? Mr C has it on all plain baked or grilled meats and its gorgeous on aubergine mash but, as you say, a bit carby. But you don't need much.

@shelley262 I can’t believe you still have some of the Yule log left, you must have incredible willpower.
And now I have 2 half lamb shoulders brewing in the instant pot.
I have stabbed them all over and studded them with garlic. Then I will add thyme, black pepper and lemon at the end.
It looks like Fage stopped making the 10% fat version a couple of years ago. From what I can see, most of the supermarkets now do their own authentic Greek yoghurt and they seem to be 10%. For example, Waitrose, Morrisons and Coop all have their own brand versions. I must say, I haven't been stockpiling for Brexit, but I am wondering about it with Greek yoghurt! We go through tons in this house! I'd be completely lost without it.Ooh, lower than most Gk yog and higher fat than Fage. I can only find 5% in Fage these days. I’m sure it used to be 10%
Did you make the pitta or did you pimp up some bought LC ones? It looks lovely.View attachment 31144 Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cheesy bread and butter with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: I made peppermint chia pudding, it was horrible and ended up in the bin! So I had a raspberry phd bar and black coffee.
Dinner: chicken balti with cauliflower rice and LC garlic and coriander pitta followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Pics of yesterday and today’s dinners
I'd be interested in what does the trick for any other fellow migraine sufferers.

Thank you! Thankfully I seem to have kept this one at bay with medication and Diet Coke. Unlike some people, caffeine isn't a trigger for me and seems to help. I can't imagine what it must have been like to get several a month. Thankfully, mine are no where near as severe as that. They usually wipe me out for a day or two...my Mum used to get blinders for days. They are intrinsically linked with my hormones, so I tend to get them once or twice a month. I can almost set a clock by them!@BibaBee migraines are horrible. I was a long-term chronic sufferer (several a month, hospital admissions the lot). Going Keto has made them vanish - 17 months since the last one. I used to carb up during them too - can’t help, with immediate relief to fill that hole but hope you soon feel better.
I made some coriander and garlic butter, grilled one side of a Joseph’s LC pitta, turned it over, spread it with the butter and returned it to the grill for a couple more minutesDid you make the pitta or did you pimp up some bought LC ones? It looks lovely.
06-02 Trying a different tack today,
7.50 pre breakfast 5.9, hmm bit high. Is that because tested before XBX? Cheese for supper?
Breakfast: tea, 43g muesli, (end of packet)60ml milk, 20g peanut butter stirred in.
Not enough calories at 359, (ran out of cream) carbs already 34 - must find a muesli without fruit, that might help, or try porridge. Porridge with peanut butter? Oats soaked all night?
More tea, have to keep the fluids up!
Bit of pottering about the house, give breakfast to settle.
XBX level 15. 70 skips
9.19am after breakfast 5.9 very surprising result. Is this due to the exercise? COMMENTS please.
Planned a walk to town, but got caught up in making soup: Leek and mushroom for lunch.
Cup of coffee
11.30 Walk to town, bought some bits and pieces, met my Dad, by accident, chat, will visit him later. Back home with most of the things on my list. Spent ages looking for muesli with nuts, but no fruit. Not found any yet at a reasonable price.
Home again, late for lunch. Had soup, thought there would be four portions, recalculate calories etc. of panful to three.
Yoghurt and berries, with cream. Have moved up to whipping cream now, fat content twice that of single cream. Learned how to scan labels into my ap. Sadly the cream insisted on being milkso yet again had to create a custom food.
Out to parents, helping Mum to set up her new Ipad mini
Back home, husband admits he lunched on my soup, recalculate again to four portions.
Snack, 30g brazil nuts
19.32 Pre dinner 5.0
Dinner: roast chicken, carrots just a few, cabbage, one fried potato, gravy. Glass of wine. And water.
Later chocolate eclair. Ooooh decadent. Should have been a treat , but comfort eating, not just for me either. Our house sale has stalled. The boxes for packing arrived today. Scanned the eclairs. Don't understand how the pack says 198 calories each, and the ap 130? Checking further pack of two eclairs. Calories on pack 361 per 100g but pack size is 110g do 5g really contain 68 calories? Seems sothis scanning lark is not at all accurate. Two out of two failures.
And amazingly am still 248 calories short of daily target. But have used all my 100 carb units
21.32pm after dinner 5.4
Can see cheese and olives coming up for supper. Really need to plan better, more calories early in the day.
