Your meal sounds amazing!Hi everyone, got to post yesterday’s food before I forget
Breakfast: DD breakfast sandwich to line my stomach for boozy day ahead
Lunch: starter was pressed duck leg and a slice of pigeon breast with ‘aromatic broth’ which was poured over my bowl with a flourish at the table. Lots of other pretty looking bits and pieces in there too.
Main was ox cheek - deliciously tender with buttered greens. Sent my first one back as it came on a bed of ‘pomme puree’ which I’d specifically asked them not to do. It would have been too difficult to eat without scraping up some of the spuds.
Pud obviously the cheeseboard and one very small cracker, just wanted the crunch.
Far too much to drink really - large gin and soda before eating, red wine with the meal and 2 glasses champagne afterwards. Don’t regret it though, it was a lovely day and the glorious weather made it even better.
Edit for typo
@DJC3 I thought the £17.50 each for that entitled us to a seat on the board@Goonergal ****nal for everyone??
Good value? The animals and vegetables were from the fields around the farm so reared and grown on site. Fortunately, I had no intention of drinking a pot of tea for £2 - outrageous. According to the LC newsletter I should be able to feed a family for a decade on a tennerYours sounds like good value to me - mine was London prices though which usually means a 200% mark up at least.
We can buy fifty tea bags for the price of that pot o' tea here.I had no intention of drinking a pot of tea for £2 - outrageous.
I like rabbit, before I came to Australia we sold Chinese tame rabbit in the last place I worked at. It was good stuff baked or put in a curry.plus butchers open. 4 wood pigeons and a portioned rabbit purchased Julie couldn't face the whole Hare
Think I need to go on Sundays.
Hi all
@Chook thanks for the M&S Sunday morning tip. Great bargain with the steaks. Will also look out for that cheese in Aldi - don’t usually go to Aldi, but sounds like it’s worth a trip.
@DJC3 sounds like you had a lovely evening.
Didn’t manage my usual OMAD Sunday today. Was playing in the Arsenal for Everyone tournament this morning and found myself very hungry on the train. Had time to dart into a cafe for 2 fried eggs and 3 rashers bacon.
Dinner was roast shoulder of lamb scored, salted and coated with garlic butter and a few sprigs of fresh rosemary. Prepared before leaving this morning so flavour had really seeped into the meat. Delicious. Dessert was whipped Jersey cream (for some reason the extra thick cream had gone runny) with almond butter.
I don't know where you shop Goonergal, but I had one of these lurking, replendent with yellow sticker in the freezer when I was doing my carni week. It had been there a while, as MrB will only buy chicken from supermarkets these days. He won't every sanction meat. (Luckily we have a fab butcher locally).
It was absolutely fab, and clearly very quick.

Can't recognise the guy in the tie - seems to have "wintered" too well - but the message on the ball(s) is good enough to balance out the context.Specially for you @ianpspurs - see attached! Guess you might recognise the guy in the tie!

Wow - are all you ladies quite petite. I was trying to remember a much taller, bigger guy.Brian Talbot!
Nice, I like Kimchi and sometimes make it myself. Rather than buy the gochugaru I just use cayenne pepper as it’s already in my kitchen.Lunch yesterday: Ham salad, with a serve of Kimchi mixed in with the salad which had a nice spicy taste.
Dinner: Mutton shoulder chops and veggies.
Breakfast today: Usual omelette and bacon.
