What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thinking about how much zucchini I’m going to eat in all the various recipes (I’ve just seen it in enchiladas!) I think I need to plant some fairly quickly. The plants always produce so much.
 
Breakfast 2 boiled eggs, LC roll with some blue cheese on one half. Coffee and cream.
Lunch. LC bread, one piece with smoked trout fillet, the other with gouda with a smidgen of green tomato chutney (
). Tomatoes. Yoghurt and berries.
Lots of tea because I’m hungry again today. Some nuts.
I have no idea about dinner. Can’t eat more eggs. Maybe a salad?
Tired of cooking.
Edit: being strict with myself. A mixed leaf salad, toms, mushrooms, red onion. My favourite olive oil/balsamic/whole grain mustard/garlic dressing with a piece of salmon on the top. That’ll do.

I don't like ostrich (or emu) although my elderly MIL loves them and everything else we've ever got her from a farmers market. One time there was someone there selling portions of crocodile (expensive!) and I didn't bother getting any because he said it tasted a bit like chicken and I didn't see the point in spending all that money on something that tasted like chicken especially as, at the time, I was raising my own table birds. Does it really taste a bit like chicken?

At our nearest good farmers market they sell water buffalo, wild boar, kangeroo and loads of venison.
 

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Swamp Men on some dodgy programme - probably something like Channel No 739 1/2 or similar. They are v funny.
 

Fishy chicken Chook! We lived in Africa for 5 years so there was a fair selection of different meat.
 
Good evening all. Lovely day here so I hope you had similar. The rationale for today's menu was yellow sticker/reduced from Waitrose. No B except TWAM - lots. Around 1.15 Latte in aforementioned retailer. - basics had already been delivered by a kindly stranger in a Morrisons van. Lunch was a double the ingredient flaxseed dunnie with butter and 45 gms comte (1st yellow sticker). Evening meal - around 6.40 was 3 short ribs (1/2 price) with spinach and pea shoots (YS) and h/m mayo. Julie likes the short ribs but I am very ambivalent - the mayo was more to my liking. Had some Fage 5% with 40 gms raspberries (YS).
New trainers for £18 instead of £69, not W YS, definitely overshadowed the food although comte, mayo and Fage were good.
@Chook Crocodile doesn't taste like chicken. Hard to describe but a little like @Viv19 says - basically like crocodile

Hi All
After a depressing FBG today I had brunch of 2 rashers and 2 fried eggs (OH had the fully monty, toast marmalade etc). Then we went for a very long walk in Petworth Park which is short drive away. It was glorious, weather just right, we talked about everything that needed to be discussed. Tonight no 1 son is bbqing for us. I have ordered 1 piece of chicken and 2 high meat sausages to accompany mixed salad and roasted mushrooms (needed using up). Happy days.
 
Will try and catch up with all the last three days posts when get time to do so but meanwhile here’s a quick summary of my past three hectic days. Mix of caring organisation on Thursday and Friday, phc conference at weekend and also youngest son competing in and completing the 100mile Birmingham anD Midlands Velo today.
Standout suff:
Meeting up with low carb friends and a wonderful trip to London.
Loved all sessions at phc conference - but particularly loved those by Dr Unwin and Jenny Unwin, Zoe Harcombe, asheem malhotra and tom Watson - I’ve watched sessions on you tube etc but being there is rather special. It’s interesting just how much their experiences, research, etc fit with my experiences too. Hoping the tide is on the turn.
Fridays dinner at the Nando’s in Greenwich with a view of the Thames and the Cutty Sark - where I had half a chicken (hot) with half an advocado and halloumi Fries and half a bottle of dry Portuguese white wine.
Meeting with pals from this forum in Jamie’s in Westminster - wonderful evening together and a catch up, plus ate a steak with garlic butter, red wine and coffee with cream.
Today’s lunch at phc excellent lamb casserole which had with Greek salad and cheese - yesterday’s chicken felt was not as good. Had Nuts and coffee with cream throughout both days - wonderful.
Back to normal stuff tomorrow!

@gennepher I agree that chocolate goes with coffee but not with tea - odd isn’t it? Glad there was nothing perishable in your boot. I discovered a rotten apple in my car once - it had rolled out of the bag and lodged itself under the seat. The car really ponged.
Did a bit of cooking today - flaxseed buns, tuna muffins and a slab of @Goonergal ‘s chocolate almond butter squares. Think I will need to make 1/2 quantities next time as they are very moreish. Had a few for elevenses with coffee & cream.
Breakfast had been scrambled egg with asparagus.
No lunch.
Dinner was slow roast lamb shoulder buttered cabbage, cauli cheese and a small spoonful of celeriac mash. Sf jelly& Cream. Few more of the choc nut squares.
 
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: chicken balti curry with cauliflower rice, followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon: salted caramel phd bar and black coffee.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake
 
Around here it's a joke, tasting like chicken. "Here, try some rattlesnake/groundhog/turtle/whatever (this could be road kill or forest harvest)-- it tastes just like chicken!"
 
Today's main meal was out local butcher's salmon cut beef. We started having salmon cut, on receommendation of the butcher. It's a great cut, when roasted, low and slow (as our roasts always are).

Lunch yesterday: Toasted cheese and tomato sandwich.
Dinner: Steak and veggies, butter mushroom sauce.
Breakfast:Mushroom and cheese omelette, bacon, tomato, reheated spudlite.

Drinks: Black coffee so sugar / sweeteners, water.

I have eaten both fresh water crocodile and estuarine crocodile and they taste like croc to me. Emu is ok bit on the tough side though. Kangaroo meat is ok as well, but my favourite is goanna done on the coals which tastes like goanna.

Edit: Just found a pix of a goanna that was hanging around our camp site near Palm Creek, scared our two boys.

@DJC3 - Montezuma black forest is very addictive!I've had ostrich a few times and boar and in Australia kangaroo. The waitress delivered it with "OK, who's having the skippy and chips?" Croc I had in Banff, Canada. We were there for a conference and we went to a fondue/hot stones place that served all sorts of exotic stuff one of which was croc. I also tried dried croc which was I suppose croc jerky. @Brunneria glad to hear you are feeling better and @ianpspurs - how's your grandson doing?
Another glorious day. Boys didn't need jackets today for swimming lessons. I have a day off tomorrow. It's a 'Walk to school week" so they're doing a walking bus tomorrow. Basically the kids start at the furthest part of the catchment area then the others join en route as they head towards school so Mum is walking with them Monday and Wednesday. So quite a lot for the lollipop people to usher over.
Bed 6.4 FBG 6.1. A very stable day.
B. TAG with ADOC. 3 Morrisons pork, tomato and mozzarella sausages, fried egg, 1 mushroom and 3 mini plum tomatoes.
L. Nothing at swimming lessons.
D. Small rib eye, 2 mushrooms, 4 asparagus spears, few veggie chips and a cauliflower steak as the cheffie people call it. Thick slice of cauli coated in olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, sprinkled with parmesan and roasted at fan 180c. Turn half way and sprinkle with parmesan again. Even hubby liked it.
Later had SF jelly. Got it from my diet shop. Odd thing, next to no anything but there is a slight aftertaste due to their sweetener. Just mix with 100 MLS cold water then 400 MLS boiling and stir. No refrigeration required and it sets very quick. I did put it in the fridge and it tastes a bit better.
Usual campari and soda and a wee prosecco as well.

One of my Mother's Day pesents was a smal bag of Endangered Species 88% chocolate. It has significantly more carbs than my staple Lindt 90%, so I was clever and offered it around for dessert at family lunch. That got rid of most of them. Mom and I ate the few others driving her home.... DIL made Mom and me pretty twig/vine based wreaths with (fake) flowers on them. Since keto spiders would hang out on fairly LC wreaths, I'll post a pic. Maybe Peter Parker (who is that anyway, @maglil55 ?) will emigrate.

and hard reboot my phone while I'm at it. Sad that Spidey didn't like my twigs....
