Sounds lovely, I need to try this and use it for a Moscow Mule. It's pretty simple as it is just a variation on LC lemonade which I've made before. It's either 1 ltr soda or fizzy water to the juice of 1 lemon and 2 tablespoons Powdered sweetener. It has to be powdered as you are not heating the mix to dissolve it. You can add more if you want it sweeter but I think 2 tbsp is enough. To make ginger ale you just add ginger juice. Peel and grate ginger root or you can blitz it and strain it through a bit muslin. Add it gradually but I reckon the ginger juice should he the same amount as the powdered sweetener.
Dead easy - put in a jug and stir.
I was wondering about lc ginger ale but I’m sure I’ve never seen it. I think we should ask @maglil55 if she would like a new project - maybe soda water fresh ginger and lemon juice would make an acceptable alternative?
Angostura used to be common - when old chaps drank pink gin but have only seen it occasionally in larger supermarkets recently. My dad used to drink tonic with angostura and a slither of lemon peel if he wanted a refreshing non alcoholic drink.
Ahhh, memories of my barmaid days - the elderly gents and their pink gins or whisky with Crabbies green ginger. A swish of a few drops of angostura around the glass and shake out any excess before adding the gin.I was wondering about lc ginger ale but I’m sure I’ve never seen it. Iceland best for frozen cauli rice and green rice IMO. Btw we have arrived in Cornwall came a day early and spending tonight at the Watergate Bay Hotel. Off to Porthleven tomo night and on to Fowey for Wed. Sooo looking forward to meeting up!
Cooking beef overnight is defo the way to go. Very low and very slow 60C is lowest our oven goes - only ever done it with large rib joints. 4 rib joints are quite functional done that way.
ETA: We think small joints aren't worth the effort so these days only the larger ones when 2 or all 3 boys and grandchildren come.

If ya need a avo hit, just give the tube of avo a quick squeeze onto to a finger for finger licking experience...

The other favoured order from the elderly gents is one a lot of you won't be familiar with - a wee heavy. It was a very strong, malty ale in a smaller bottle. It was the subject of a Bill Barclay (a Scottish comedian) song which was an alternative to the 12 days of Christmas and the 1st day his true love gave him a wee heavy and a half pint. Drinks got progressively stronger until you ended on 12 Alka seltzer. It was a peculiarly Scottish drink - Fowlers wee heavy. There were Blue Lagoons in that song too. To think I used to have the odd Blue Lagoon as a tipple.
Could of said squirt it straight in to your mouth...Noooo!

Evenin’ All,
Seems like DAYS since I’ve posted on here.
Mainly scram eggs, cheesy mince and chook curry, with an accidental ingestion of maltesers 2 days ago, and a couple of squares of 70% each of the other days.
Slight error of judgement - used a tin of chopped tomatoes in the curry. Enjoyed it (several days in a row). But the ol’ hand ‘rheumatism’ came back. So no more toms for me.
Today:
Scram egg and sausage
Fab cheese and ham omelette at local garden centre
Cold meat
Just 4 working days and 5 sleeps til we head off up the A1 to self catering cott near Edinburgh.
With Ma In Law.
Gonna be v interesting.
Me, Mr B, Mam, dogs 1 and 2, and our luggage in the car. I am prioritising dogs and laptops over clothes (there is a washing machine).
Jasmin (pup no. 3) will be staying with an Auntie, on account of incomplete toilet training, and carpet in hol cott. We will miss her tremendously.
Sounds like a great start. The food choices and holiday ambience appear to have agreed with you bigly judging by sleep and fbs. I hope that continues and we see pics of you in the MPGA baseball capFirst day in Cornwall yesterday at Watergate Bay which we have been coming to for twenty years. Yesterday’s food was
Breakfast 1 slice HiLo toast, butter, tea.
Lunch: Stopped at pub in Devon where it was mostly roasts on offer. I had a Prawn Cocktail with extra salad.
Dinner: Asian fried squid followed by Mussels Menieure few skinny chips.
1 large G&ST (I bring my own mixers) and large glass wine.
Followed by a blissful sleep in the oh so comfy super King bed.
Off for a cliff path walk now as its full tide so no beach walk here. Then we are shipping out going south to Porthleven for next two days. Cold since we got here but minimal rain. Fingers xxxd
