Lovely day out in Bakewell today. It felt odd not to leave with the obligatory Bakewell Pudding (definitely not tart!), breaking with a tradition of over 15 years. I might just have to try and master a LC version now! We had a lovely (but eye wateringly expensive) coffee in an Austrian coffee shop. However, I was disappointed when I spoke with someone about possible low carb options next time we visit. They specialise in Austrian produce and particularly sausages, which they serve in a roll with ketchup, mustard etc. They even make a point about their sausages being gluten free. But when I asked if it would be possible to have a little salad on the side, instead of the roll, I got a funny look and the bizarre answer "If we did that for one customer, then everyone would want it"! They offer several sandwiches with salad (including a salad sandwich!) on the menu! Bizarre!
B: Almond Chia pudding with mixed berries
Mid morning: Almond milk cappuccino
L: Picnic by the riverside in Bakewell. Tuna melt muffin, chicken tikka skewer, slice of emmental, some mixed nuts.
Mid afternoon: Coffee and a smuggled in LC choc cookie
D: High % pork sausage, cauli cheese, huge pile of buttered spring greens and a very small hm Yorkshire pud from the freezer. Decaf coffee.
