What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

That weird cauliflower is called romanesco and is my most favourite veg
Excellent- shall look forward to it - tho it almost looks too pretty to eat!
Bit of dog walking to do first tho - trying to persuade my self that I really can't wait to get out there in the wind and rain!

Bottled out of the ghost chilli. Phew! Have to face it tomorrow though.

b: coffeencream
L: lidl roll + marmite and butter
S: smoked cheese
D: burgers, cauli cheese and onion bhaji.

May have berries and cream later.

What is ghost chilli?

I love onion bhaji :p but it doesn't love me. I spike with anything chickpes.

Ghost chilli is a chilli, just like any other chilli, but with a rather distinctive flavour. It is hot, but at the same time, it has a slightly blank, almost airy flavour. Very distinctive.

Earlier in the week i used some jerk seasoning on some pulled pork - and unknown to me, the seasoning makers have added more ghost chilli than usual. It was a fairly traumatic experience. And i have i portion of pulled pork left, waiting in the fridge, meanwhile, i am making excuses to delay the inevitable...

B. 1 slice Burgen toast with cheddar slice
L. Lidl's high protein roll split& toasted with 2 scrambled eggs
D. Venison steak, 2 eggs fried in olive oil, green beans. Strawberries& double cream
S. Small cubes double Gloucester cheese with chives, walnut halves, almonds

Hoped to try Lidl high protein rolls today but the Lidl in the next town sells them loose and the two left were stale by the time I got there :(
B Pancakes (almond flour, baking powder, 1 egg, almond milk, splash of double cream, water to thin the batter for the last few.) Cooked in coconut oil and piled in the oven to keep warm with sweetener & lemon juice. Light and delish with crispy edges. Time-consuming to cook though. Next experiment: cook in advance and see if they keep.
L Sundried tomato soup with a toasted flax seed bun & stilton. My first attempt at the bun. Not bad, quick to make, bland taste without flavouring, toasts nicely unlike almond bread.
D Roast chicken thighs with crispy skin, mushrooms in melted cream cheese, & steamed butternut squash, leeks & cauliflower.
S Will attempt chia seed pudding.
EDIT Chia pud very nice, small amount makes loads. Will make in advance for breakfast another day, perhaps with berries.

I find if I eat anything containing sugar now I get pains in my stomach too. I think our bodies must get used to the low carb high fat diet and rebel if we eat high- carb, what do you think?

D: will be the beef stew I made last night. I FINALLY seem to be experiencing the increase in energy that I've heard other low carbers talking about. Its only taken 3 months! :):)
