I have a set of Sainsbury's Collection pots which I've had for 20 year! Not a scratch on them. I think they just call them hard anodised now. The 2 woks are the same make. Not surprisingly, I also have a set of Professional pots and pans that I bought in Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet on the way back from work somewhere south on the M6. I've had them ages too since it's 13 years since I stopped working. I've tried other odd ones but they never do what it says on the tin! I've held onto one Le Creuset round casserole dish. I used to have a rectangular one but I managed to crack it. Like @PenguinMum it's frying pans that need replacing although this Salter one is hikding up well so far.On a whim, in their sale, I bought a hard anodised sauté pan and wok from Sainsbury's a couple of years ago, and over time have added another couple of bits. We have a full set of stainless steel pans, as well as a couple of Circulon frying pans, plus the cast iron. Yes, I know.....
The hard anodised are absolutely fab, and although based on aluminium, the process seals that in. Ours have survived all manner, without any scratching. The sauté pan base is over 30cm (although I can't measure it right now) and I find it rock solid and level on the cooker.
If I were buying a first pan, and wasn't confident I'd like it, I'd go to Lakeland - just because of their fabulous satisfaction guarantee.
[USER=24561]. Week 4 is the start of "Deep Dive" (looking forward to [USER=193971]@ianpspurs take on that).
L. 1 avocado with smoked salmon and I did a mix of sour cream, mayo and lemon juice for the dressing.

I don't believe that for a moment! Got to say I'm really enjoying Week 3 of this DD schedule. Definitely my kind of food. Brings back memories of sitting on the balcony in Italy with just an assortment of meats, fish (anchovies), artichokes, roasted pickled peppers, aubergine and copious amounts of wine. No wonder an afternoon nap was required.
They may look at you as if you've gone nuts but, have you ever tried to get a Libre sensor and scanner on the SNHS from your doctor? You're insulin dependent and I know it's down to the individual health boards but, if you don't ask....it would let you see the trends over a 14 day period. I found it incredibly helpful at night to find out what was going on. They may even have a set as a trial - you never know.Yesterday I was trying to keep track of BG throughout the day to see if there was a pattern emerging. FBG was 8.4 and I started my food day at 9.30 with 34 units of Humilin S and some of the Tesco Ardennes pate - just because it was there (I realised when I looked at the Tesco site that it included tapioca flour and potato flour and contained 5+ g carb per 100 g. Tapioca flour is usually not a good idea for me, but doesn't seem to have had any ill effect - not much of it there I suppose.) I had about 100 g of it.
That put BG up to 10.9 by 10.30 and 12.0 by 11.45 but it did drop again and by 4 pm it was 6.7. At 5.30 I had 3 eggs scrambled with butter - again after 34 units of Hum S. Then recording BG went wrong a bit because Em decided to call in on her way home from school but by 8 pm it was 7.1. I had a piece of 85% choc (unusual for me, but I thought I would try it). Result? BG 10.0.
Not sure that there is a pattern there at all.
Anyway - today I have 2 chicken legs in the oven roasting and will have at least one about 3 pm. I also have some calf's liver on standby in case I get too hungry later - just eating meaty things seems to do that to me. FBG was 7.3 and I'll continue to check frequently when I do eat.
The Kangoo is on its last wheels. A mechanic checked it and advised that it won't pass its MOT next month so no point trying to fix the alternator. It's done well, poor old thing and will likely end its days on the croft as a mini greenhouse. Unfortunately, we were also advised, when the Scenic went in for its service, that we should replace the back tyres, they aren't worn but the rubber is cracking around the walls - they're pretty old as well. We were digesting this information and this morning went to the shops and got a puncture in one of the said rear tyres! Decision made - straight to the tyre workshop and had 2 new rear tyres put on and got them to reseat one of the front ones as well, which has been losing pressure. Pretty expensive month this, bearing in mind that the cold weather meant our oil supply ran out earlier than usual so the tank has to be filled asap. Still, all should be in working order for a little while and, at least, I can not renew tax on the Kangoo and not pay for it to be MOT'd. Ought to get something back on the insurance as well, - every little helps!
Remind me again when the Deep Dive starts Ms LovelaceI don't believe that for a moment! Got to say I'm really enjoying Week 3 of this DD schedule. Definitely my kind of food. Honestly, it's shaken me out of my fed up phase but I'll still fiddle with the recipes!
You so downplay all this but hey I couldnt be happier for your report. You have just made my Blue Tuesday look up.Good evening fam. B=bulletproof tea, then another tea with lactofree milk - bye bye lacto free. Much more tea - there was a plan/need. Lunch = lemon tea and food porn in Gail's bakery Cambridge with Katz Deli type moments in nearby Decathlon. Evening was more tea and Ox cheek casserole atop raw spinach then nibbled some cheese and ate 1 row Green and Blacks sea salt stuffage and 1 row Chocologic Belgian chocolate. Lots of fluid as part of camera in intimate places this afternoon. Went well and doc said surgeon did a neat job - see me in 3 months. A14 fluid all the way home so all good.
Thanks for that. May be more Blue for Mr P M and son after tonight. Take care and once you change that meter all will be well. You so downplay all this but hey I couldnt be happier for your report. You have just made my Blue Tuesday look up.
