The Airfryer Steak Revelation has hit hard.
I have been rummaging in the freezer today counting how many we have, and while my (steak) lunch was cooking, I worked on the latest supermarket delivery order, and chose more steaks... could get expensive.
The standard sealed packs which are very suitable for freezing claim a 227g pre cooked weight. That isn't enough for me as my one proper (main) meal of the day, would have to add something like an egg or two.
The butchery counter offer hand cut steaks and they can be ordered at 200g or 400g or 600g.
Our local butcher does fabulous steak, but they never have ribeye
and they are pricey.
Decisions, decisions.
I ended up going for a mix of pre-packed and butchery counter steaks, with a view to finding out how the 200g and 400g ones actually arrive. I can freeze them each individually in clingfilm, and they will take up almost no freezer space...
Todays steak lunch (227g, cooked 9 mins per side) was again superb, so that confirms that last night's meal was not a one-off. Not ribeye, but didn't check the label to see what it was.
The dogs (who get a tiny morsel each once I have finished eating myself, in their bowls) are in disbelieving heaven.
