What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Is it possible to just try replacing the washer/hose? If it's the connection twixt machine and plumbing, it only takes a moment, and requires no tools, other than a decent grip. Although final tightening might be best with mole grips or whatever.
I am not a plumbing person, my dad and I talked and we have no idea what washer it takes. Plus a plumber is probably best to cover my rear end in case insurance is needed for the minor water damage that occurred. I took photos just in case.

@Quinn1066 ... Stop valve required. Shuts off all water to / from the washing machine
yeah I think I found that, as well as turning off the cold tap the one that was leaking to the washing machine. Honestly I am clueless about these things, I just turned taps to what I presumed was the off position until the leak stopped.

@SlimLizzy I think you have a good point about portion sizes increasing because plate sizes are now much bigger. The dinner plates from the set my parents had as a wedding gift in the 50s are the same size, near enough, as the side plates in my newer service. My dinner plates don’t even fit flat in the washing up bowl.

Thanks for the hugs

Can we swap our dinner ? It made me hungry !

Quinn - We sort of found these, just before coming away for a while so deferred any decision until the house is reoccupied again. Out main stopcock is in a horrid, horrid position and next time the kitchen has any major works done on it, it will be moved. The isolator one on the washer isn't much better, hence being curious about these: https://www.surestop.co.uk/

Pipe under washing machine sprung a leak, my parents came over this evening, they think the washer just went and it started spurting water. turned off tap, stopped leak to a slow drip, it's friday here, so plumber is coming monday morning before I have my GP appointment at 1.30. If it doesn't rain it pours. So can't use my washing machine till Monday.[/QUOTE]
So true sometimes. We had freezer malfunction. Light gone in living room and vacuum blocked this morning, but at least it's not raining, so the quagmire out the front is slightly reduced.

In the what?

i think you must be related to Mr C.

Lots of rushing around today getting ready for another couple of days staying with the Out Laws as MIL's ashes burial ceremony is tomorrow and the final sorting out of her possessions. I'm staying again with the SIL who is seriously in to stodgy English cooking circa 1950 (think suet puddings and suet pastry pies.)

Today...

Last night bedtime test: 5.4
Today FBG: 6.4
Breakfast: Usual unsweetened soya coconut yoghurt, 80g mixed berries topped with crushed nuts and seeds
2 hours after: 5.6

Lunch: 5.2 Probiotic strawberry drink (low carbish)
2 hours later: 4.5

Dinner: Butterbeans and spinach in EVOO, garlic and h/m pesto

Drinks: usual black decaff coffee and lots of water

Evening all.

Back to 2 meals today. Lasted until around 11.30 for an early lunch of bacon eggs and cheese. Dinner was carnivore pizza with pepperoni, Polish sausage and bacon toppings plus a very few small pieces of onion. Delicious.

Woke at 6.45 - reluctant (bed) leaver. Tea (assam) with inulin and almond milk. Disgraceful ? .4 rise but I like tea. Lunch? coffee with whole lactofree milk from W .... tested 2 hrs later 5.3. The meal today was avocado and tinned mackerel salad with lots of chia and flaxseeds preceeded by some gammon .3 rise. Don't need anything else but will have tea with lacto facto stuffage. Fun day today. Exchanged contracts with completion next Friday. Booked a holiday for November (Pathos again but -£400 from last year). Best of all bought a high heat torch/plumbers brazier for starting bonfires.

Congrats on exchanging @ianpspurs that’s a relief I’m sure. We actually had an offer on ours today, not as much as we hoped for but we might go for it anyway.
Black coffee this morning, quite a lot of it as I didn’t have much sleep. Cold wet dog walk before lunchtime which made me very hungry and because I was still tired it was difficult to be sensible.
DD Italian keto plate ( Parma ham, mozzarella, tomato and olives) didn’t feel enough so a couple of slices of cheddar. Realised that it was something sweet I was craving. Managed to stop at 2 HC buttons and a few hazelnuts.
D: https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-chicken-fajita-bowl really enjoyed this and will have it again. I think I remember @maglil55 saying it was good last week.

Good news about an offer but what about a high power torch/brazer?. Tea with whole milk lacto free milk for evening meal. Why whole by the way? Admire you for eating to DD menus - are they less mad than my personalised 20 gms mushroom omelette debacle?

Busy day today and busy family weekend ahead so just quick recording and then will catch up hopefully on Sunday evening
No breakfast as needed to rush out
Lunch lc cheese scones, coleslaw and home cooked ham
Mid pm dd lc brownie and raspberry swirl
Dinner beef curry with some seeded crackers and gin and soda followed by lemon and lime mousse.
Can’t believe that we will hopefully be celebrating our eldest autistic son’s 44th this weekend - where did those years go?

2 eggs scrambled at about 1.30 today and then a banana at 5.15 before I went out to the children's class. BG now (8.15) 5.7. Still can't walk so had to go in the wheelchair and ask for help. Didn't go well - I'd e-mailed to ask for assistance but it hadn't been read so I had to struggle with the chair to get it out of the car and then get myself in from the car park - it is a chair with big wheels so I can propel it myself, but it is hard work. One of the boys did help when leaving, but we couldn't get the chair back in the right position in the boot, so Neil will have to sort that out for me. Hate to be so dependent on other people but I know everyone is willing to offer help.

Yes I haven’t had a problem with odd quantities, but maybe it’s because I’d automatically ignore it if it looked mad. I judge most things by eye so 20gm mushrooms would be roughly a couple in my estimation.
No Hp torch/ blazer for us. No idea what one is though.
Was the tea comment what you had? I haven’t tried any lacto free. I’ll prob stick with the Alpro almond milk as I can buy it locally and it’s zero carb and I’ve got used to it in tea now.

Bg looks to be in a good place just now. From what I have read of and into your posts - those classes and the hospital chapel as examples - you are more than willing to help others. If you need some teamwork to be able to accomplish that so be it.
