Beautiful day here - I hope its the same for everyone.
Apparently THAT alarm went off again a couple of times in the night but I slept through it this time.
Anyone seen this singing policeman on BBC / Facebook? Absolutely brilliant!!!!

Meals
Breakfast: usual omelette with carb free syrup (no surprise there then)
Lunch: usual Actimel drink and bit of Dolce Gorgonzola (no surprise there either)
Dinner: crispy fried tofu (without cornflour this time) with a sort of spicy Chinese themed dipping sauce and a marinated vegetables sort of side salad with a bit of kimchi.
It's got worse since then. They didn't tell the Hotel about the outbreak until 4 March - 5 days after the conference. How many people stayed at the hotel in these few days? What about the staff ir guests there at the same time? It's also come out that 2 delegates took the infection back to Teeside & Oxford. To top it all it turns out that other people who work in the same building as the people concerned were sharing a small lift with them and no one contacted them. You have to wonder just how many were infected by this one outbreak as it was 1 person that infected 25.I saw the item about Covid19 being in Edinburgh in February a couple of evenings ago! That was just shameful - not letting people know and not following it up to any great extent. What was said yesterday was that most of the participants were from other countries and those countries were informed so that they could trace contacts. To my mind that isn't an excuse; it makes it even worse! And anyway, it wasn't only the people at the conference who would have been affected - what about contamination in the hotel itself, what about the staff?
We were also told that there was no coronavirus on the Island until late March, but that was clearly not the case. So many people seem to have gone down with it (or if not, then something very like) in early March or even late February. Of course, we couldn't expect to miss it - there are so many here working offshore, students travelling to and from the mainland, islanders going to Inverness or Glasgow for shopping. A very high proportion of islanders move around a lot, and then there are the medics who come as consultants to the Western Isles hospital from other hospitals all over the country. All that could be said was that, until mid-March nobody had tested positive to the virus, because there was no testing.
On a food note - I still have quite a lot of broccoli spears left to use up and will have them today with salmon. I'm intending to make a kind of Asian sauce to go over them. Breakfast was mashed up raspberries and the last of the cream in the big pot I had. Then a small mandarin orange. At the moment I have it in my mind to make some small spinakopita with cabbage leaves instead of filo pastry. I'll need to wait until Friday to see if I can get some spinach to do that though. I seem to spend a lot of my time imagining dishes that I could make these days. Probably not a great idea to be obsessed with food. But that's probably par for the course when one is trying not to eat too much.
I have been giving the grocery box food - other than tinned tomatoes (and pasta for Neil) to No 2 son for his family and they have been taking some out of it and taking the rest in for the food bank. Seems like a good way to use it, but I still wish they would stop delivering it.

I think I'm so annoyed because I've been ill so long and have no idea whether it is the virus because I can't get tested. This is total lack of care.
Yesterday bed 7.3 FBG 6.3. I'm a bit breathless again and didn't have a very good night. Son wanted to go shopping so I took him but stayed in the car. Town is still the same, you wouldn't know the difference to a normal day.
B. TAG and 2 slices of skinny bread - one with Dairylea and with pate.
L. Nothing.
D. Leftover Kung Po beef from yesterday with cauliflower rice. Later 2 bits 85% and still later 1/3 of large tub Skyr.
@Goonergal good idea. That is definitely small enough for the spit roast.
Evening all. No food until around 2pm. Bit of a disastrous morning when Dennis snaffled a couple of fruited tea cakes and had to be rushed to the vet to be given an emetic. Wouldn’t be so bad but they were free tea cakes as they were out of date, but the vet bill was £59! Daughter had eaten one and said they weren’t very nice but didn’t put the rest in the bin or far enough back on the counter to stop him getting them.
Lunch eventually was LoDough wrap with smoked salmon, prawns and cream cheese then a lc custard.
Dinner https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/bacon-wrapped-chicken-breast-with-cauliflower-puree if anyone fancies something different with cauliflower, and you like garlic, this is for you. I really liked it. 2 glasses red.
@Annb I’m the same with chocolate, have you tried freezing it in portion sizes?
@shelley262 I’m glad you had such a peaceful day but so sorry about your not upcoming cruise. I do hope you’ll be able to arrange something later in the year.
Breakfast: Three egg, cheese and mushroom omelette, bacon, tomatoes.
Lunch: Toasted cheese sandwich.
Dinner: Goat chops, veggies, gravy.
Drinks: Black coffee, water.
Rang the PBS safety net bell yesterday (48 scripts - $320.00), so free 'scripts and strips for the rest of the year. One of my COPD medications (Airomir) is unavailable till when ever. Good job I have some stockpiled to keep me going to till I get an alternative.
I rang up to order my meds on Wednesday and was told there would be a delay in the order being processed - instead of two days it will be a 7-10 days before they are delivered. Luckily, like you, I have a month's worth of meds stockpiled - my mini stockpile is from when we were all told that Brexit might cause medication delays - OMG that seems like another lifetime ago!
Just wondering what the problem was with Dennis and the fruited teacakes? Is it something dogs can't eat or did he eat too many? The only things my dogs aren't allowed to eat is onions and chocolate but I'm always very happy to be educated. Having said that, I can't remember any of them having eaten dried fruit but they eat plenty of it fresh.
Food today
Breakfast: two fried eggs on buttered Burgen toast
Lunch: yup, you've guessed it usual Actimel drink and a bit of Lidl Dolce Gorgonzola
Dinner: Mum's salad - cheese, eggs, quorn eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions, cucumber, beetroot and some Jersey Royal new potatoes drowned in melted butter - quantity depending on what my BGs are doing at the time.
A naughty glass (or three) of wine
It’s the raisins in the tea cakes. Lethal fo some dogs but there’s know way of knowing which dogs will be affected. The vet said a single raisin could be bad news for one, yet another could eat 30 with no ill effects. He also ate too many tbh. 2 whole buns in as many seconds - vet said they came up pretty much whole too. I managed to fish the third out of his mouth after a game of chase - no way was he going to do ‘drop’!)
How did your BG react to those Jersey Royals? I do miss them, not bothered about any other spud. Did you cook and chill them first?
