What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: bacon and egg. Neil couldn't get streaky bacon this week, so he brought home back bacon with all the fat removed. This morning is the first time I've tried it. It's very salty and I may not be able to use the rest. At least, in this morning's shopping, he has found some streaky bacon for me.

2nd meal: will be fish, baked with some spices. I thought, at a quick glance, that in Tuesday's shopping Neil had bought haddock for me, but I see it is Dover sole. I didn't expect to see that in a plastic supermarket pack. I'm looking forward to that.

The sardines, on top of the bacon and egg, were enough for me for the day, yesterday. The brisket was awful - it's now in a poly bag waiting for No 2 son to arrive with the post - he can take it away with him and give it to the dogs.
 
Brunch - 2 slices slc toasted and buttered with scrambled cheese & eggs. Mug of earl grey tea

Dinner - Salmon with chilli and a large side salad. 1 dgf Bisc-nott with double cream drizzled over the top
I await a delivery from DGF. It says it will be delivered this morning. Royal Mail site says it's in........Peterborough!! I'm praying the just haven't updated it as I have 2 boxes of their new biscuits in this order.
 
Monday 30 August - bed 6 FBG 6.2.

Just a normal school run day. Today we start to introduce afternoon time to eldest "wean back into school" time. Going well so far.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with coronation chicken.
L. Nothing - too busy going back and forward and then home schooling.
D. After all my rushing about Hubby produced Chicken & lamb shish kebabs with green peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, onion. Lidl mini dark raspberry bar.

Tuesday - 31 August - bed 7 6 FBG 7.4

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with Philly.
L. Nothing
D. Slice each GF haggis and GF black pudding, mini tomatoes, mushrooms and a duck egg. DGF coconut and raspberry.

Horrors! Iceland have discontinued my favourite broccoli/ cauliflower souffle thing!! I've run out too. I'll now need to work out how to make them.
 
Wednesday - bed & FBG both 6.7

L. Nothing
D. Pork loin chop with mushrooms and oven cooked halloumi "chips".
I've run out of grenade ice cream bars and struggling to get through to restock due to the road closure (another week at least to go!). Still mourning the demise of the broccoli/cauliflower souffle thing from Iceland and postie gone past (Thursday) - my DGF is still in Peterborough

I'm going to have another go at making pork sausage, so I might grind up some of it and add it for a bit extra flavour. Could also make pea and ham soup but it is really so salty. Might soak in water for a bit to see if some of the salt will wash out. I don't want to throw it out, and it is too salty to give to the dogs.

No 2 son came with the post and took the brisket away to share amongst the 3 dogs. Apparently he was feeding the new girl with tinned mackerel in oil - she ate that quite happily, but he says he has no intention of buying tinned mackerel for her. She has to learn to eat what the others eat (meat mixed with biscuit). Meantime, I guess, all 3 will be given a more meaty meal than usual, just to get her used to the idea of biscuit with her food. The other 2 also begged their share of the mackerel and wolfed it down.

Late morning: black coffee and Atkins bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: coconut cappuccino and a Fibre One bar.
Dinner: cheesy scrambled eggs on Marmite on LC toast followed by SF strawberry jelly, chia pud. and LC nutty granola.
 
B: ff greek with seeds and strawberries
L: some Stilton and a chicken thigh while waiting for some pasta to cook. Yes pasta, suddenly realised this libre runs out tomorrow and I haven't tested pasta so tried some with cauliflower and tomato sauce.
Bg rose slowly and was heading down again when I got moody and bought and ate a proper brownie. Well that did spike me!
Skipped proper tea and just had some chia and strawberry pudding made with alpro coconut.
Something not right in my tummy though, but too many variables to pick culprit.
Been very thirsty too.
Hope Tomorrow is a better day, not like me to be grumpy for this long.
 
I iron (or rather steam) pretty much everything. A habit I inherited from grandma/Mum. Only difference to then is a steam generator makes it much quicker.
Yes I couldn’t get into my sheets if not ironed. X
 
Whipped some cream and added some pureed berries last night - still hungry after the fish.
So this morning, I had the remainder of the berried cream for breakfast.

2nd meal - which I shan't leave too late - leaving food for too long brings on my nausea and puts my BG up - steak and mushrooms.
 
@SuNuman I've always thought there is nothing nicer than getting into a bed with crisp sheets. Especially in Summer when they've been dried outside. Having been busy with home schooling, I do have an unwelcome batch of ironing accumulating. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow afternoon.

Dinner: chicken thighs stuffed with pork and apple with cauliflower and green beans followed by SF strawberry jelly, cream and LC nutty granola.
Hi were do you buy the low carb coconut porridge from please and how many carbs is in it
 
Two hard boiled eggs, low carb toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Small tub of Chobani greek yoghurt for smoko, glass of lime / lemon cordial with a large scoop of Osmolax in it for smoko.
Cocktail prawns and lettuce in low carb wraps for lunch.
Mild beef curry and veggies, sugar free orange jelly and a small amount of two fruits for dinner.
 
Back to Thursday.
Breakfast then, yesterday and today was slice HiLo toast, thick butter and lots of tea.
Lunch was rollitos and salad. Supper was Chunky Fish Fingers and tenderstem broccoli.
Friday yesterday lunch was scrambled eggs and cherry toms.
Supper was chilli meatballs and courgetti.
Lunch today was M&S calamari and salad.
Supper will be Indian t/a Tandoori King Prawn and cauli bhajee, one popadom.
I have always had an issue with avocados. I’ve tried so hard to like them but sliced they are a texture that I just dont like, too slimy. There was a tub of M&S Guacamole in fridge needing using up and tasted it and it was so nice so shared with Mr PM. He had crisps with it! It suddenly occurred to me that half a tub at 2.8g carbs piled on a slice of HiLo toast would make a nice lunch for me when the salad season ends. So there’s always hope if you persevere!
 
Just out of hospital after another 24 hour stay. I had my usual breakfast yesterday then ended up being admitted and was nil by mouth for the rest of the day.
Today feeling much better and allowed to eat, so combination of LC snacks I took in and hospital food:
Breakfast: 3 x M&S seed crackers and butter followed by SF jelly. The housekeeper thought it very odd that I just asked for black coffee and two butter pats from her carb laden breakfast trolley!
Mid morning: black coffee.
Lunch: one sm pkt of Cheesies, omelette, green beans and cauliflower followed by an Atkins bar.
Mid afternoon: black coffee.
Dinner: ham salad followed SF jelly.
 
@Rachox - I do hope they managed to either "fix" you during your latest stay (or at least make you more comfortable).

Friday bed and FBG were both 6.9.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with coronation chicken.
L. Nothing. Picked the boys up from school at 12.30, had them here for 1.5 hrs , took them home them struggled through the traffic due to the road closure to do my shopping as I have the boys tomorrow morning.
D. Had one of the Iceland wild large shrimp with chilli and tomato. I added cauliflower rice, 2 sliced mushrooms, spinach, more tomato and Thai Red curry paste with a little cream.

My DGF arrived today! It didn't have a holiday in Peterborough. I had to try one of the hiscuits. Think I picked one of the chewy ones. I like it though even although I can make LC biscuits myself. I also had to try one of the white chocolate topped ones. Not too sure about them. They're a bit sickly sweet.

@PenguinMum - I used to loath both avocado and aubergine. Now I love them both. I'm happy just to peel, slice and eat avocado.
