What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Black coffee until 10:30 when the DGF delivery arrived! Had to try a mince pie, really liked the Christmassy flavours but the pastry won’t be to anyone else in my family’s taste - which makes them even better in my book.
@Lainie71 I tend to freeze them on arrival ( mix the boxes up a bit so you get a variety in each box when you defrost ) then take out a box at a time - they’ll last a couple of weeks at least in the fridge.
Lunch was the last bit of calves liver and bacon followed by another DGF cake ( cranberry and orange from the mixed Christmas selection)
Dinner was braised steak with cauli and broccoli mash
@maglil55 I remember you and the others talking about cabbagegate - it’s made me very careful when following the DD meal plans.

Something odd going through - not sure if it's a cold or a migraine- spent the morning asleep in bed and the afternoon curled up in a chair reading about migraines.

L: whole avocado, bit of ham, lettuce and cucumber. Tried sprinkling that with avocado oil. Very nice.
8 blackberries with ff greek

D: fritatta with ham and cheese. Green beans on the side. Chopped nuts, 90% choc with cream.

Supposed to be going out tonight to a WI meeting where they make sugar centre pieces. I like the creative bit but not the sugar...

Have been experimenting in the kitchen last couple of nights…Last night’s dinner was rib eye steak with a creamy garlic sauce and green beans - I was tempted to lick the plate!

Tonight I tried making chicken and cream cheese roll ups in air fryer - sooo good!! Had with leftover beans.

I was surprised this week when I got the Royal Mail text saying they'd deliver next day. Usually it's 2 days if they are residing in Peterborough. My logic is if, on the history it hasn't left Peterborough, allow 2 days. We are getting to the time of year when it will potentially be longer.
Interesting - when I get the text & email from Royal Mail it always says delivery is for the next day and all going well as they have done recently have been delivered next day but as you say we are coming to that time of year when delays will probably happen ...

Worth a try, if you like corned beef.

So far, just a slice of wholemeal toast with butter. I didn't do anything with the cabbage last night because I suddenly came over all unnecessary. That has lasted through to this morning but I have given the cabbage a quick steam to make it ready for using later, when I feel a bit more energetic. I'll sweat off the bacon and other bits and pieces in butter and then finish off by stirring the cabbage in, maybe with some more butter. Causes twinges of hunger just thinking about it. That's a good sign.

Had my cabbage and bits. Tasted fine although I didn't really want it and I ended up feeling nauseous again. Now have a bad headache - unusual for me and I'm still tired and pretty sore. Must be a bit of a bug.

I have been know to lick the plate in Wetherspoons of all places which also included a pea fight, was also in the company of family - this was all before diagnosis which I am putting down to the diagnosis - honest :nailbiting:

Our posties have just had their last day off work until Christmas. They really do work flat out and I can only assume that other offices do the same, so how stuff gets held back, I can't imagine. Of course, as my dad used to tell me, the post office has never been the same since he left.

I cannot seem to stop snacking at the moment and have just eaten a handful of mixed nuts. The thing is if I eat them after 8pm I start feeling rather warm half an hour later and my sugar spikes. It seems to happen with most things I eat after a certain time of evening.

Hia what is shelf life of the cakes at Deliciouslyguiltfree?
When they arrive there is usually a best before date on the bottom of the box (at least a week away) and there is a note sometimes in with them which recommends keeping them in the fridge and using within the week (you have to keep them in the fridge or they will go off quickly). I find that usually after a couple of days they don't look as fresh so after the couple of days I put what is left in the freezer and just take them out as I want them (they take around an hour to defrost or 30 secs in microwave) but more recently there is some I have just put straight in to the freezer if I know I am not going to eat them within a day or two - but that is just me I am a bit of a freshness freak I think - they keep for a couple of months in the freezer.

Two Mexican sausages, two egg and cheese omelette, mushrooms for brakfast.
Tub of yoghurt, lemon cordial osmolax mix for smoko.
Rib fillet, a mixed salad of various bits and pieces, two spoonfuls of mango sorbet for lunch.
Leftover salad in a low carb wrap, half a mandarin with a tub of low sugar pineapple jelly for supper at six.

Our online shopping list has been upgraded as the old one got a few bugs in it. the main list is around seven pages long and was getting jumbled up when "select by aisle" was selected,

All fixed now, and the list is a page shorter, now all the unavailable stuff has been deleted.

Same here, If I eat late it affects me more and my fbg is higher. I’ve started making our evening meal a lot earlier now - as near to 5pm as I can. Luckily my OH starts work at 6am so he’s usually home by then.
Evening snacking is a hard habit to kick though isn’t it? Lots of green tea is helping me at the moment.

Roasted a chicken yesterday and a couple of lamb chops - just to get them done before they got to their use by date. Also made some half decent gravy for use today. So I guess that will make today's meals as well as the cabbage that I steamed. Just thinking about it is making my stomach churn just now. That's not a good sign.

Breakfast: meat sliced from one cold lamb chop. Gave me awful indigestion. Drinking water to get it under control.

Took the 2nd lamb chop and cut it up, added lots of veg and some stock to make a meal for later - hope it won't bother my stomach this time around.

Might just slice/chop/tear up the roasted chicken and put it into the freezer to use at a later date. The thought of chicken just turns my stomach just now.
