What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: Full Greek. Tea.
L: Tin sardines, roughly mashed, with portion of 4-bean salad
D: H/m beef casserole with lots of veg and pulses. No spuds or bread. Tangerine. Coffee.

Did yoga session straight after work. Interestingly, although hungry before the class, this vanished during the course of the session. Had D 6.5 hrs after L, but didn't need to eat too much.

Had the burgers last night, they were yum and very filling. Also had "apéricubes" for an aperitif (little cubes of dairylea type cheese with various flavours, wrapped in different colours - I can see that another brand sells something similar in the UK :-)) and a few glasses of bourbon and caffeine-free diet cola.

Yesterday
B - Peanut butter mug cake and coffee, both with cream
L - Early lunch of sardines because of a family funeral so ...
Second lunch - various bits of buffet chicken and a couple of pints
After that I didn't want dinner but I did want a lot of Merlot.

Today:
50/50 toast - only 2 more slices and I never have to have it ever again! (bought in error)
2 x coffee.

Tuesday:

B: Nothing
L: Nothing
Emergency Snack: Nothing
D: Chicken Breast with Melted Cheddar, and the usual 3 ton of green veg in garlic pepper/butter
2 squares of 85% Tesco stuff (not too bad, but had better)
Eh? what is "85% Tesco stuff"?

The veg sounds lovely.

B: cereal, (couldn't be bothered but big mistake, high b.s. after) cup of tea.
L: a lovely home made paneer, spinach and sweet potato curry with Cauliflower rice.
D: ryvitas with cheese.
S: actimel drink, water throughout day.

Day 4 of Week 2 of 800 calorie 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet. FBG 5.1

Breakfast: 100g Total Greek yoghurt with a teaspoon of Jordans sugar free Tiramasu syrup (got it from eBay - yum!)

Lunch: 113g Sirloin Steak with a sprinkle of M&S smokey Firepit spices, baked mushrooms, wilted spinach and asparagus

Work meal: bag of mixed salad leaves, 6 cherry tomatoes, and 170g cold roast chicken thigh

After work supper: Individual bar of Aldi Moser Roth 75% Chocolate

I had an appointment with a physiotherapist this morning for my knee - my BG was 5.2 just before I went in (2 hours after breakfast) and an hour later after the physio I was feeling a bit odd so I tested again and it was 9.3. I re-did the test because I thought there was a mistake but, no, it was right. An hour later and I was back down to 5.1 and has been steady since. Weird!

B: Fried eggs & spinach bread
D: (will be): Mackerel fillets, stuffed peppers, broccoli and pak choi, raspberries & cream
...but I had to show you a picture of my lunch (sad, I know!):
Oopsie roll, chicken with lambs lettuce and tarragon yoghurt (Greek yoghurt, tarragon and a splash of lime juice) - it was a thing of beauty (and tasted really good)! :D

Proof that stress raises BG levels then!

Cake. I have eaten cake today!
I adapted the almond bread recipe from Ginny's Low Fat Kitchen - added grated apple, sunflower seeds, stevia and mixed spice and it was really good. (It was the smell of the freshly-baked hot cross buns in Tesco which set me off!)
:smug:
