What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Just finished dinner of venison sausages, roast celeriac, leek and onion and some mange tout. And very nice it was too. Have got sugar free jelly with fresh raspberries in for dessert.

I would like to lose weight and include a lot of vegetarian options. Would appreciate ideas.
Stuffed aubergines, which is what I had last night. Cut the aubergine lengthways and scoop out the flesh. I put this in my mini chopper with celery, onion, mushrooms, garlic and then fry it all up in a tiny bit of olive oil. Tip in a tin of chopped tomatoes and season with salt, black pepper and a couple of sprinkles of dried chilli flakes. Spoon into the skins and sprinkle some grated cheese on top. Bake for about 40 minutes, regulo 5.

B Strawberries, yoghurt and pumpkin seeds, coffee and cream x2
L Cheese and ham salad
D Pork and chilli sausage x2, butternut squash, courgette and cabbage in blue cheese sauce
S Hot choc, brazil nuts, Chocologic neopolitans x3

Tested the Chocologic No Added Sugar Dark Chocolate. Its quite acceptable. Good chocolate taste. @debrasue You will be glad to know they do a milk chocolate as well as the Dark. At 2.2g per 4 squares you can easy add this in to a low carb diet. The milk chocolate has 4.5g carbs per 4 squares and the milk chocolate with hazelnuts has 4.2g carbs per 4 squares.

B: coffeencream
L: watched Mr B enjoy a KFC while I had quiche and salad. My halo remains intact.
S: kale crisps. only 3 left. what will I do?!?!
D: bratwurst, 1 tblsp veg mash and sugarsnaps. And my bg still went too high. :(

Hiya @Kyi! Yes, I noticed that they do a milk chocolate version. I had to move swiftly past that, though :) because milk chocolate is TOTALLY my drug of choice and I can't walk away from it once I've started. There's never been any such thing as half a box of chocolates in our house!
Chocologic also do a bag of Neopolitans, which appear to be small, individually-wrapped squares of dark, milk and plain chocolate. I might risk buying a bag of them next week as it's our family Birthday Week (3 of us have birthdays in the same week) and we're all off on our usual week's holiday so, if I get into trouble I can always rely on the grandchildren to help me out!
I agree, it's a pretty good product which actually tastes like chocolate!

Cake. I have eaten cake today!
I adapted the almond bread recipe from Ginny's Low Fat Kitchen - added grated apple, sunflower seeds, stevia and mixed spice and it was really good. (It was the smell of the freshly-baked hot cross buns in Tesco which set me off!)
:smug:
And no impact on BG !! 5.4 before and 5.1 two hours afterwards. :-)

B - Bacon & Mayo
L - bits of meat plus a 75g bag of mixed seeds &"goji berries". I don't even know what a goji berry is. Makes me sound like a proper ponce.
D - Broc & stilton soup plus spinach bread.
S - merlot.
I've just made my third loaf of your spinach bread today - I'm becoming addicted to it!
Goji berries are the new trendy 'go-to' food, alleged to boost the immune system and brain activity, protect against heart disease and cancer, and improve life expectancy. Madonna swears by them, apparently. (But from what I can see Madonna swears at the drop of a hat! ;)) There's no reliable scientific evidence to back up the claims so far.
Are they nice?

Goji berries .
Are they nice?
well, each to their own...I've eaten dried goji's and they were like raisins but hint of resin like aroma.
I would not call them my favourite of the berries, nor I believe they are any better than any other berry, but given a choice one out of two...I would rather eat them than chop my hand off...o_O:rolleyes:

Day 5 / Week 2 of 800 calories BSD - FBG: 5.1 :)
BG has been between 4.6 and 5.4 for the last 24 hours.

Breakfast: 100g Fage Total Greek yoghurt with a teaspoon of Jordan's Chocolate Caramel Truffle sugar free syrup.

Lunch: Broccoli and Stilton soup

Dinner: Roast beef, roast celeriac, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and gravy.

Snack/Supper: Moser Roth chocolate again (just one of the little bars). I know it's a waste of the few calories I can have but just that little bit of naughtiness really seems to help.

All very nice, just not enough of it.

I made this - low carb (almond flour based) raspberry muffin cut in two and stuffed with clotted cream with a thick layer of clotted cream on top and decorated with more berries. Really scrummy.

OMG that looks amazing!

Could you share the recipe please. I think that making myself one of those just might be my big treat at the end of this 8 wee Blood Sugar Diet.
