What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Had a lot to deal with this morning including some sad family news so didn't manage to eat until 2.30 but clearly made me vulnerable to snacking after my first meal! Usually have breakfast on Saturday and Sunday so maybe I felt a bit cheated and so went a bit off plan this afternoon
2.30ish can of sardines in olive oil mixed with sauerkraut and 6 LC seed crackers and portion of kefir then moved on to several dips into the nuts container and the bulk of a 90% chocolate bar - I'd been so good restricting a bar over last week but the new bar bought today isn't going to last me the week I'd planned!I may need to go back to the 100% chocolate again as it's self limiting for me. Could have been worse. Our emotions definitely control our inability to follow through our food plans at times! At least I stick to the LC stuff mind you I don't keep any higher carb stuff in the house by choice for this reason.
5ish hm chicken curry and LC wrap with larger than normal glass of red wine followed by LC blondie warmed and served with yoghurt.

So sorry to read of your sad news but the snacking is completely understandable in the circumstances so please don’t worry about it - you are usually so controlled a blip won’t matter in the great scheme.
I agree about the 100% choc being self limiting. I received a Montezuma’s order today - a box of the Absolute Black mini bars and a few other AB items. They’d added a free gift of the ‘dark chocolate giant buttons’ 74% cocoa and 29g carb per 100g. I thought I’d be able to have just one but it was so deliciously sweet and chocolatey after the ‘hard stuff’ I knew this would be impossible so had to give them to Paul to keep away from me. I like the 100% stuff but it isn’t anywhere near as easy to overindulge in.

Oh how I wish you’d done that! Everyone recognisable only by the different colour jumpers behind the picanha (? Spelling)
What a great idea too about swapping plates around. I wish I could do techy stuff like photoshop. I’d be only too happy to give most of my plates away tbh. I need some nice new fish design ones!
It was so funny, when they came around with the meat I suddenly realised just what it was in your profile pic! :hilarious:
Next time I come to the UK I'll bring one of my traditional Dutch 'Boerenbond' design plates to swap with one of yours just to cause confusion on this thread. :joyful:

It may take a couple of years, but I waited 3 years for the fishes plate and it still worked out, we're not in a hurry.

Gallon or two of black coffee
Brunch of DGF wrap, fried eggs and bacon.
Hadn’t planned lunch but mid aft I was peckish. Tried a pack of Serious Pig snacking cheese with rosemary. It was horrible the Rosemary completely overpowered the cheese and made it taste really medicinal. A DGF Crimbo crumble to take the taste away!
D- DD Flying Jacob Casserole. Pretty much the same as their other casseroles but this one had Worcestershire sauce and green peppers in. Very nice. Broccoli with it and a glass or 2 of red.

I love that plate! Most of mine are ghastly but it’d make me laugh to see your inspired creations on one of them.
Ps my profile pic was taken by @Debandez who was just trying to take a photo of the fab meat and hadn’t realised she’d got half of me in it too

Friday 3 February - bed 6.5 FBG 4.9 (I checked that twice but definitely 4.9).Half day Friday! I'd managed to get eldest through his homework yesterday at mine, so he went in happy with the printed copies this morning. I am trying to convince him that if he just stopped moaning and got on with it, he'd complete it a lot sooner. He also knows I don't give in until he finishes. Next step is to convince him that I am not in the business of torture! I am helping him.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ox tongue and coleslaw.

L. Nothing - usual collection from school and deposit home then went home and relaxed putting a shopping delivery through for Saturday (amazed I got one)

D. Got a SRSLY seeded roll from the freezer and mixed up tuna melt. It certainly hit the spot. CC little chocolate pot.

Decided that I'm doing sone Diet Dictor meals next week. Going through the recipes it reminded me of recipes I love and haven't made for ages.

I did have a vodka and diet coke as well!20230203_183922.jpg

Friday
just black coffee for breakfast -don’t like to eat before a swimming pool workout

lunch (first food at 3:20 pm) was meant to be a pancake made with cream cheese and egg, but I broke it up trying to flip it, so it became a weird scrambled eggy mess, but tasted fine with a few blueberries , a shake of cinnamon and a blob of Fage yogurt. 2 cups decaff black coffee.

dinner , pork steak, small sausage, romanesque cabbage sautéed in garlic butter, sugar free tonic water.
4 hour eating window.

Saturday,
breakfast black coffee

lunch @1:45 pm, 2 boiled eggs, ham, olives with feta, coleslaw, black decaff coffee x2

dinner, fried in butter fennel, savoy cabbage shallot , salmon . Glass of sparkling mineral water.
5 hour eating window.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a DGF ginger cookie.
Dinner Chinese take away: crispy duck, 3 small pancakes, 3 prawn crackers, a smidge of sauce and veggies followed by SF strawberry jelly and cream.

And of course I've been nibbling on them all afternoon so I'm not too motivated for cooking.I expect the cauliflower leaves will have to wait until tomorrow and I'll just have a sandwich and some chicory leaves with hummus.
As expected. :)

Low carb slice of bread with halloumi and sucuk, and a low carb cracker with baba ganoush. Which is made of aubergine so it counts as veggies. :hilarious:
On a cute plate not available for swapping. I look forward to one of @DJC3 's ghastly plates though, I'll accept anything except plain white! :joyful:

I’ve been revisiting some of the diet doctor recipes recently too. I find a lot of them are good for batch cooking and I’d forgotten how tasty they are and how very quick and easy to prepare.
Wow! On your 4.9 this morning - I rarely see 4 at any time of the day.

As expected. :)

I love baba ganoush. Did you make it? Definitely lots of veggie points.
(Another great plate - It’s always s relief to me to eat off a plain white plate rather than one of the eclectic mix of ghastly ones I’ve accumulated )

Nope, I've tried making it a couple of times over the years but the supermarket version tastes way better to me. :hilarious:
It also keeps for an eternity, this tub is more than two weeks past its use by date and has been opened that long as well. No idea what they did to it to make that happen but I doubt there are much vitamins left after the preserving process!

As expected. :)

".... I'll accept anything except plain white! :joyful: "
That lets me off the hook. :)

(Although we do have some with just a border stripe too, plus "best". I think that's what happens when you come together in more mature years. Well, that and multitudinous toasters and Le Cruset collections.)

Has anyone tried Chicken Bread? I saw Jen Unwin post about it on Twitter the other day, but didn't save the recipe link. Dr Google shows me this one that looks very similar if not the same:

Morning all. The Omad is working! I have a meal at lunchtime and a small piece of cheese at teatime and I'm not hungry. Added to that, I have lost weight, I'm happy to say. For lunch I am making a beef stew with carrots, onions, leeks and steamed cauliflower and then that small piece of cheese at teatime. My bg's are coming down slowly too. Have a great Sunday everyone

Saturday 4 February bed 5.6 FBG 4.7 (I checked these twice as well). BGs were pretty low most of the day. It was surprising since the boys on the Saturday morning trip to jujitsu seemed intent on driving me nuts!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ox tongue.

L. CC Little chocolate pot

D. Courgetti carbonara.

@DJC3 It's the last few days that BGs have gone down. I've had more than a few 4's (4.2 being lowest). I've checked with finger stabs, and they are really close. I tend to eat within usually an 8 hr window but, that is pretty normal for me. Maybe CC little chocolate pots have magic properties?

Well I never! I haven’t heard of this, I’m going to wait until someone else on here tries it first. The thought of liquidising chicken, even once cooked is something I’d have to take a very deep breath first to do. ( I don’t make pate often for the same squeamishness)
