What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Saturday 14 October - bed 7.8 FBG 7.5. The youngest grandson decided to have a difficult day! He drives me to distraction when he behaves like this, and, unfortunately, both boys were staying over. Thank goodness there is no school next week.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with cream cheese and the last of the deli roast pork.

L. A piece of crustless quiche.

D. It had to be quick, so I had a tomato/pork GF sausage, GF Black pudding, Ayrshire Middle bacon, fried egg, and santini tomatoes. CC little chocolate pot.

Battling the youngest's ill humour made me long for a very large gin, but I resisted.

Sunday 15 October - bed 7.8 FBG 7.9 (I'm surprised they are not through the roof as the bad humour/behaviour continues).

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ox tongue and cream cheese.

L. A bit of crustless quiche

D. A real retro dish (to celebrate getting peace & quiet again - Tournado Rossini. Fillet steak, on a SRSLY crouton, topped with pate (should be fois gras but that's too expensive) and a well reduced sauce with finely chopped mushrooms I did have a roastie with it. Cooked just as I like it. Usual campari and soda and a little chocolate pot.

Tonight, I can breathe and relax

@Annb I hope you are feeling much better now.

My brother has been staying this weekend, so did a roast, which I haven’t done for ages, so food today.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: a coffee shop coconut cappuccino and a Holland and Barrett protein bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: roast chicken, one small roastie, half a Yorkshire pudding, carrots, brocolli and a splash of gravy. Oh and I added a small teaspoon of cranberry sauce after I took the picture!
As I said it’s been ages since I did a roast, so very happy with my blood sugars 5.1 pre meal, 4.4 after two hours, with a highest level of 6.0 in between

I had tornados Rossini on my first date with my husband

Got distracted by a telephone call with my favourite aunt, who just got diagnosed with cancer for the third time. First two times were breast cancer, this time it's breast cancer cells in the fluid behind her lungs (they'll drain on tuesday which will likely make her feel much better) and in her breastbone.
She's optimistic, not so much about surviving (this would be a bonus, she'll see the oncologist on thursday), but optimistic in general.

Anyway, proper food will have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks, yes. Just as well I had the RyVita before I went out or I'd have dropped into the hypo earlier. Even when BG has risen a bit, my head, eyes and balance stay rather fuzzy, which is quite disconcerting. Had my pork mince with spinach and half an onion (also a chicken stock pot). It was surprisingly good. Still some left for tomorrow morning to have with a fried egg on top. BG fairly stable now between 6 and 7.

Loving the sound of your tournado Rossini. Yum.

Morning all. Yesterdays main meal.... roast chicken, sausage, broccoli, cauli, carrot, leeks, brussels fried with onion and bacon and an almost carb free gravy. Rehearsing for Christmas Day when the whole family is going to be there!! Have come home because I have hurt my back and if I'm unwell in any way, I prefer to be home. For my tea, I had 2 Rollmops but still stayed under 20g carbs. Today is Pensioners lunch and my friend is bringing it home for me. Hope she doesn't bring the pudding, I shall find it very hard to resist! Anyway, have a good day folks.

Breakfast: The remainder of the pork mince and spinach with a fried egg on top. To be honest, the egg didn't add much to it; it was tasty enough on its own - just bulked it out a little.

2nd meal will be salmon in a parcel with the rest of the spinach and some butter, chilli and lime.

Actually managed to stand up to do one of the exercises in my MoveMore class today. That's a step in the right direction.

Hi All
Yesterday managed my plan to eat smaller meals.
Brekkie was usual slice LC toast, cooled, butter and copious tea.
Lunch was thin slice Dr Almond country bread (0.03g/slice) spread with Dairylea. Tea.
Supper was 3 meaty sausages and two thin pieces of chicken from Mr P’s last bbq of the season with dab of Stokes “low” ketchup (addicted!) and swede mash with lots of butter.
Today same brekkie.
Lunch same.
Supper same except cold leftover bbq meat lol.
@Annb so good to hear you’re better, you are so stoic about all your ailments.
@RosemaryJackson sorry about your hurt back and hope it gets better pronto. Well done on the “safe” roast.

Evening all

Can't believe I actually completed a 24hr fast. Wasn't intended to do it, as I've planned to have a 24hr fast tomorrow. Around 9.30am I received a phone call from my Sister in Law asking if she could visit later, obviously said 'of course'. This led to a big clear up operation before she arrived, so I didn't have time to make my planned normal brunch. SinL eventually left at 4.30pm, which was just an hour and a half away from the 24 hour fasting mark. How could I waste this opportunity to complete the 24 hour fast when I'm so near the target, just had to stick it out.

10am and 3.30pm, black coffee with two teaspoons of MCT oil.

At 6.30pm - rib eye steak with mushrooms cooked in butter

2 squares of 90% Lindt chocolate

Total Carbs, 6.1g. BS before dinner 4.3!

Skipped breakfast
More decorating and cleaning
L: 2 eggs with mayo, a chunk of St Agur, cucumber, 2 cherry tomatoes
4pm 2 sqs my cauliflower cheese savoury with 20g cheese
8pm chicken and bacon salad (in pub). Small white wine.a brandy
10pm ff greek with nuts and 1 sq chopped 85% chocolate
