I had a look at their website but couldn't see this. Was it a seasonal special? I thought it would be a great gift.
There will be puppy photos aplenty once it arrives. I’d better navigate to the other thread by then though!
Dear me @DJC3. I take it your GP is not diabetic then. Should she develop type 2, I suspect she'd cut out the bread PDQ!
Sadly, you have only to walk round a hospital ward to see the long-term consequences of relying solely on antidiabetic meds and making no changes after diagnosis.
I did that many years ago, pre accident. I was anorexic, lost a lot of weight & it did save money.Listening to your body is generally a good thing. Not that I'd advocate it, but there was this bloke who fasted for over a year and lived (and lost a lot of weight). Plus think of the money you'd save!
I've been on LCHF for quite a long time now and my legs were badly swollen due, I was told, to fluid retention (pills didn't help much, if at all). So far, low carb hasn't stopped that happening but bandages have made a huge difference - at least below the knee. Just as bad as ever above the knee. Perhaps it was just too late for LCHF to make a difference to my legs; my diabetges is a long-standing issue - perhaps 50+ years before diagnosis. You’re right - I had my diabetic retinopathy check recently. All the other patients there were in a terrible state, swollen bandaged legs, struggling to walk and looking quite unwell. It’s sad and unnecessary and makes me angry. When will the penny drop?
Should work well.Wonder if it can be put into small plastic boxes and frozen in portions. Does anyone know?
It may well be your BG drops again when your eyes improve!Ive had a lot of trouble with my eyes which are a lot better but still swell up and itch. I've been quite good with my lc eating, have had nothing sweet, no bread or potatoes but I can't get my bg down past the 7's.
I’m pleased your eyes are feeling better @RosemaryJackson . I wonder if the higher blood glucose readings could be related to whatever inflammation is happening with your eyes?Hello everyone. I've just spent 2 hours catching up on the postings since last Thursday! I've been AWOL since then. Ive had a lot of trouble with my eyes which are a lot better but still swell up and itch. I've been quite good with my lc eating, have had nothing sweet, no bread or potatoes but I can't get my bg down past the 7's. Anyway, today I'm having 2 sausages with above ground veg and for tea a tin of salmon with mayo. Thank you all for your good wishes, you know who you are. Have a good day all.
That looks nice. I like a well-cooked sausage. And that cauliflower mash looks good. I've yet to make it, but I will soon. With the addition of cheese too, I expect.Dinner two sausages( not had for ages - these are Waitrose high pork and 1.3g of carbs for both sausages) served with cauliflower mash reheated in oven with cheese on top, onions and a few baby tomatoes

Finished with LC chocolate bun and decaffeinated coffee.
My late sister couldn't look at pictures of snakes. Put them on a nature program, and it would be turned off in record time! She was petrified.
Just as well someone does, I suppose. I know they serve a useful purpose, but something makes me frightened of even fairly small ones and can't look at video or even still footage of them - irrational I know, unless I was a fly in a past life!
My pet hates, too. I've worked out it is the way they move that I don't like.I love all my garden spiders but the huge ones that gallop around my house are less welcome near me!
It probably won't. My triage nurse always says that she prays for just one more of me to come in. She explained that it's because I never say "give me more meds". I'm the opposite. If my results are up, I usually know the reason and insist on being left to my own devices to reduce it again. You’re right - I had my diabetic retinopathy check recently. I break up eggshells, dry them, store them in a jar, then scatter them around the plants the slugs/snails go after. As my grandsons say,'it hurts their feet". It doesn't stop them totally, but they definitely don't like it!I expect it was the exceptionally warm, wet weather that encouraged the blight @jpscloud.
I'm fascinated by garden birds, insects and spiders, so never use pesticides. Many so-called pests and weeds are the gardener's friends and help to keep pest numbers down.
Have thousands of slugs and snails though. I sometimes think we're feeding some of our neighbours' molluscs, as well as our own!
Wishing you a trouble-free journey home @MommaE and smooth connecting flight(s). Sounds as though you're well prepared foodwise, which is just as well. There's seldom any suitable diabetic-friendly food available at airports. Most of tomorrow will be in airports and on flights followed by a hotel night before continuing on to home on Wednesday so I have some hard boiled eggs, zucchini bread and low carb protein bars to carry with me for the airports.
Thank you @LivingLightly . Unfortunately, someone ( me), left everything except the protein bar, in the fridge! A fridge I likely won’t be back to until October. Once through security I went straight to the nearest food kiosk and found “ protein box” consisting of two hard boiled eggs, a pile of cubed mixed cheeses, a large pile of plain almonds and about six grapes. I was thrilled. And it’s just a small local airport too, I didn’t expect that.Wishing you a trouble-free journey home @MommaE and smooth connecting flight(s).
