Lol @PenguinMum. Is each head of broccoli priced individually according to weight then?Hi All so MIA again….
On the broccoli discussion I just want to add that while choosing my head of broccoli on Thursday a male pensioner next to me chose one and snapped off the stalk and threw it back in box, smiled at me and said “that will save me at least 15p. Funny!
Thanks for the update @RosemaryJackson. It's good to know you've received prompt medical attention from an eye specialist.Good afternoon. Been to Lincoln and he said it is most certainly an allergy and obviously I am using whatever I am allergic to every day or so. So it's quite a conundrum! I have more anti-histamines and anti-biotics so we shall see what happens. Sent you all a hug to thank you for your good wishes. X
Can you actually match the QRisk score they have for you? I never can, but then, they must be guessing my height weight for starters.Thank you @AndBreathe for reassurance. As long as annual checks that's key thing. I do get the measuring and feet checks annually but I keep an eye on my own weight and bp so important stuff is the annual blood tests and eye tests. Will see what DN says on Friday but would suspect that as usual there will be no interest in my good results only my abnormal ldl. I note they have run a Qrisk score already and put on my file ready for the statins push but am certain I have a score loaded as a diabetic even though it has been 9 years now since I had a full blown diabetic hba1c! I'm so pleased I took part in the Leicester heart health study as it's made me more aware of the whole picture 're heart health risk and my high Idl is my only risk in my opinion. Information is crucial to help us make the right decisions for ourselves based on our belief 're risks and benefits of meds.
My brain was saying, "That's a heck of a lot of garlic to get that amount of mash," but of course, there is cauliflower in with it! How do you get it so white? I must give this a try.
Yes its “loose” which gets weighed. @Antje77 that is a very good mug with me and my brood on. Btw my favourite word atm is zuurkoolstamppot which seems to me like a mix of all our favourite things.Lol @PenguinMum. Is each head of broccoli priced individually according to weight then?
I cooked a whole swede in the microwave the other day, very successful if a bit smelly! I haven't tried microwaving whole celeriac but have some ready to harvest from the garden (I just grew four in a tub) and would love to know how it works out if you give it a try!Yes its “loose” which gets weighed. @Antje77 that is a very good mug with me and my brood on. Today usual brekkie of slice LC toast, butter, copious tea.
Lunch will be some farmshop cheese, a little bit of several, three small water biscuits and a few pickled silverskin onions.
Supper will be lightly spiced chicken breast with veg yet to be determined.
Having a home day today, laundry, making individual cottage pies for tomo. I e with mashed swede. Trying the Singing Swede method as my wrists struggle to cut swede or celeriac these days. Has anyone tried the microwave method for celeriac?
Enjoy!Morning all, early start today, off to Belgium for a short break.
I was thinking of you when I chose the mug for my kefir!@Antje77 that is a very good mug with me and my brood on. Btw my favourite word atm is zuurkoolstamppot which seems to me like a mix of all our favourite things.
Neil has allergies to dust and smoke as well. Odd one is peat dust which blows around quite a lot when drying the cut peats, so he has never been able to go with us to bring the peats home although he can go to do the cutting. We don't do it any more though, which is a relief to him.Friday 15 March bed 6.8 FBG 7.3. I have to admit @RosemaryJackson, I did wonder about allergies when you described the latest flare-up. There are times I look as if I've gone more than a few rounds with a heavyweight boxer! Watch out for external irritants, too. I have two odd ones, dust and smoke. We discovered this the first time we moved house. Getting into nooks and crannies to clean and burning rubbish (in the days you could). Cleaning now, I have to wear gloves.
B. Just TAG
L. Nothing. We were all heading to the dentist for a check up.
D. A couple of salmon fillets glazed with SRSLY sweet chilli sauce. Remains of the buratta, egg mayo, veggie salad, and 2 M&S wheaten crackers. View attachment 66791
Well, I didn't do anything about the bigos. My new leg pain kicked in and I couldn't stand up, so spent the rest of the day in the big chair. BG dropped again and I had some coconut biscuits to stop the drop. Libre sounded the High glucose alarm at 10.7! So insulin and cold chicken was the next step. The chicken was sitting in the fridge so was easy to grab but the bigos needed heating - too much for my legs to take so l went without.2nd meal: Finish the bigos but add some peas to it - I intended to do that before this, but forgot but I will add them today.
