@DJC3 @shelley262 I've not tried using a tin of mackerel, just the smoked. Is it a big tin or just one of the small ones
I use just a small tin_125gs of mackerel fillets in olive oil ( I buy Waitrose essential and also the same size tin for sardines in olive oil. £1.25 per tin of mackerel and £1.00 for sardines both in olive oil)

I use whatever I happen to have to hand. I do prefer pate made with the smoked vacuum packed mackerel fillets, but in a salad I prefer the tinned. Both are good either way though I think.

Breakfast- cottage cheese omelette
L- Ham, olives, avocado, few nuts and a couple of portions from my latest cheese subscription ( Spenwood, a sheep’s cheese and Finn a soft cheese with added double cream)
Dinner- Braised ox cheek with garlic cauliflower mash. This is such an economical cut of meat. So tough when raw and melt in the mouth delicious after slow cooking.
