What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hello
B. Raspberries and cream

L. Roast pork, red cabbage, cabbage, carrots, 2 stuffing balls, gravy and cauliflower cheese.

I succumbed to a piece of chocolate birthday cake after cutting it for the family.

D. Cauliflower cheese with corned beef. Strawberries and yoghurt

B: none but then succumbed to a custard tart for elevenses!
L: fried egg sandwich (yes, as you can see the low carb mantra hasn't gone well today)
D: courgetti with pasta sauce as made by Nigella Lawson on TV yesterday (put pot of olives, jar of anchovies, zest and juice of a lemon, clove of garlic, toasted pine nuts and large bunch of parsley in a blender with a load of olive oil and blitz.)
Oppo chocolate and hazelnut ice-cream - boy this is good!
About to have a hazelnut milk latte.

breakfast : omelette with ham, red pepper mushroom and cheese
dinner - beef lasagne made with aubergine and leek sheets topped with roast cauliflower and cheese
with a side of carrot and cauliflower with cheese, and butter cooked spinach with hemp and sunflower seeds, strawberries and clotted cream

Today's plan:

Cheese omelette with mushrooms

Prawn, avocado and mushrooms

Lidl meatballs cauli rice and leeks

Well today I skipped breakfast as I wasn't that hungry, for lunch I had a 2 egg omelette with broccoli and I think for dinner later will be pork chop with veg.
On a side note I'm quite a noob at this, so was wondering if I'm going for less than 50g of carbs per day how much protein should I be staying lower than so it doesn't just turn that to glucose instead, (I believe that I read that somewhere on here.)
Cheers

I've missed a few days......

Saturday:
Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, chipolatas, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes (no baked beans )

Lunch: Little container (about 125g) fresh raspberries eaten while trailing around Scunthorpe trying to find Mr C a computer lead thingy which doesn't seem to exist (or, rather, it comes in a pack with another lead that he doesn't need and costs £40ish)

Dinner: Pork belly strips marinated then grilled until fairly crispy, flavoured chicken wings, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, soured cream dip

Prosecco and a g'n't, peanuts

----------------------

Sunday:
Breakfast: Lidl protein roll, grilled bacon and grilled tomatoes

Lunch: Nothing

Dinner: Roast beef, brussel sprouts, carrots, roast 'snips, cauliflower, a few broad beans and...... FOUR SMALL JERSEY ROYAL SPUDS (just steamed and drenched in melted butter). OMG they were wonderful.

BG before dinner was 5.1 and two hours after it was 5.5

Supper / Pudding: Mr C made me a raspberry crumble (just raspberries at the bottom then he rubbed butter in to a mixture of ground almonds and coconut flour, then mixed in some of Lidl's Linseed Crunch and some other seeds, then baked for half an hour) and I had it with full fat greek yoghurt.

Prosecco and a g'n't

Two hours after supper my BG was 5.6

I thought all this 'irregular eating' might catch up with me this morning (which it normally does) but my FBG this morning was 6.3 (which is a fairly low fasting reading for me)

------------------

Today (Monday)

Breakfast: two boiled eggs and buttered Lidl protein roll soldiers

Lunch: The remainder of yesterday's crumble and full fat greek yoghurt

Dinner: (Will be) Red Snapper (on special offer at Asda) fried in butter, with a stir fry of courgette, asparagus and pak choi

I'm not quite sure but from memory suspect the formula was 0.8g per kg of your ideal weight- someone correct it if I'm wrong!

I don't calculate mine like that - I tend to see what happens to my BG after a meal - if I have had similar veg before and either a new protein or a larger portion and it goes up then the odds are that I have had too much protein

Last Saturday I had gammon steak - it was quite large and my BG went up a bit higher but still ok so I know that is probably my limit.

The problem is all our bodies react very individually so even a formula won't work for everyone - does give you a rough idea though.

Didn't have the chips. I dìdn't have the energy to wrestle with a celeriac. Substituted a salad of lettuce, san manzano tomato, 1/2 avocado and 2 walnuts. Not had the king strawberries either. Will see how I feel later. Oddly my BG is pretty stable. Was down at 5.2 but mostly lurking around 6.4. Strange , usually illness keeps me pretty high.
