What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Mixed nuts and 3 raisins with a tiny bit of milk for breakfast.

Cheese, red pepper, spinach and 5 baby plum tomatoes for lunch.

Belly pork and broccoli for dinner.

I've been aiming more for keto than LCHF for a while, pretty sure today qualifies but I've never tested my blood.

I don't normally post in this thread but I'm quite excited because something has just happened tonight for the first time - I feel like I couldn't eat any more if I tried. I think for most of my life I haven't had a normal appetite suppression thing going on. Even on LCHF / keto I don't get this automatic reduction in appetite that a lot of people seem to get, and I need to count calories in order to avoid putting weight back on.

I have just had ... quite a lot ... of belly pork, but still I think I'm just under 'maintenance calories' today and am feeling stuffed. Why couldn't this have happened 20 years ago? It could have saved a lot of paperwork.

BG 2 hrs after my meal 5.1

Hello there. Have you ever continued testing for longer after a Chinese meal, or better still, used a Libre sensor? Many people fine Chinese fare extremely tricky on the old blood glucose as it can result in multiple peaks for a single meal, as opposed to just the one.

Hello all.

This morning blood sugars were a lot better at 5.2 -- I didn't eat much yesterday though.

@maglil55 -- A big hug from me. It is really frustrating when blood sugars are higher and we don't really understand why. So, thinking of you.

@jayney 27 and @DJC3 -- Have a wonderful vacation. Hope you have a grand time.

Thursday ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. A small DD keto roll with goat cream cheese and beef salami, homemade low-carb chocolate mousse with whipped cream.

Lunch: Nothing.

Late dinner (arrived home from work at 10 p.m.): A cornsalad with Caesar's dressing, parmesan, two boiled eggs. A very small serving of chocolate mousse with whipped cream.. A glass of wine.

Blood sugars were 5.1 two hours after dinner, so I am hopeful for tomorrow morning.

Sounds like you’re getting better and bgs are improving alongside your health improvement.

Been awol for a couple of days, catching up reading now!
Last few days have seen a drop of 1.6lbs, first big drop in a month...oddly enough it has happened when I haven’t been able to accurately track as away and earing out alot. Stuck mainly to protein with as much fat as possible but know that protein was higher than normal and fat was lower....go figure!
Today - B, 2 eggs scrambled with plenty of salted butter and a dash of cream
L, not very hungry so small piece of cheese and chicken bone broth
D, ...if hungry will be chicken and avocado salad....with plenty of dressing.

Looking dorward to catching up on food diaries and getting more inspiration from you all

Hi All,

3pm I decapitated the Lindt bunny. It was an act of kindness, in order to put it out of its misery. Have to do the same with jelly babies. Can't bear the thought of them still conscious so I nip the heads off before the rest gets eaten. I am good like that.
5pm will be quite a lot of roast belly pork and salt

I expect that will be all I need today.

Hi all

Fasting worked and overnight I dropped 0.7kg of the 1kg I put on while away.

Planned to fast again today but didn’t happen.

No breakfast.

Lunch was 20g of Willie’s 72% Venezuelan chocolate and a small bag of mixed nuts.

Dinner was fathead pizza with pepperoni and Polish turkey sausage (called something like Zywiecka), followed by a small portion of lazy mousse. Pizza was the best one I’ve made - not quite sure what I did differently but it was crispier than usual.

Hey we’re blood sugar twins tonight! Mine were 5.2 before dinner and 5.1 after 2hrs!
Hi, hope today has been good for you?
Eaten later tonight as I was wrapping gifts for my granddaughter, so about 40 minutes to wait before I know the result of my 2 hr reading, before eating it was 5.3 so fingers crossed

Your pizza looks great, I’ve not yet had the courage to make one for fear of disappointment, apart from cauliflower soup I make all other low carb recipes have not turned out well, they have been edible but never look right

Fathead pizza is to die for I’ve never seen anyone post that they don’t like it

It’s delicious and very easy - I’m not a great cook! It’s the crust from this recipe (just added my own topping instead of the suggested one). I don’t use any tomato sauce as I find it too sweet.
