What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Evening all. Don’t even want to admit what I’ve eaten today. Seem to be oscillating between fasting and over consumption. Will be plotting a middle course over the next few days. Here goes:

Breakfast - ate my packed lunch of a Lidl protein roll with cold lamb from the other night.

Mid-morning snack - bag of pork crunch. That’s where it all started to go downhill. Over the course of the rest of the working day consumed 90g of Godiva 72% chocolate - way too sweet - and about 70g Montezuma’s Absolute Black with orange and cocoa nibs AND 50g mixed nuts.

Dinner - brined chicken leg with small portion of cauliflower cheese so at least something sensible to finish.

Off to Pilates shortly.

@shelley262 how did you get on with your HbA1c?

Thank you, much appreciated.

You are very welcome, just hope you are not disappointed. I do think you need the liquid smoke though!

Liquid Smoke, sure I've seen this somewhere and will be sure to get some.

Hi all
@Goonergal will be tomorrow or Friday before hear- it was the blood draw today. Hoping they won’t call me back as my vein collapsed while she was taking it and she was a bit dubious about if there would be enough blood! Big bruise across whole of arm! Will let you know as soon as hear.
18/6 fast today
Lunch cheese omlette followed by thin slice low carb coffee and walnut cake
Dinner bolognese sauce with 30g of bean fettuccine and now enjoying therapeutic glass of dry red wine. May be Chocolate later!
@ianpspurs thank you for bq sauce recipe I have some pork ribs in freezer that I was wondering about how to cook.

Ouch!

Ours came from Amazon. It is better once left in the fridge and obviously taste as you go but the just made taste is more fiery than the left to settle and melded with meat taste.

Ah yes! I had searched for Old Bay seasoning and Liquid Smoke later came up in my 'recommended for you' section. Thanks again.

How many Lidl rolls do you still have? I am overcome with jealousy

Was just about to ask for the recipe as we are big fans of ribs. Both version now heading to 'Copy me That'.

I've seen it in Tesco and I'm sure I've spotted it in M&S with their American stuff.

Evening everyone.
I’ve had a very busy day sorting, clearing and cleaning. Don’t know how we’ve managed to accumulate so much stuff. Good news is that the activity has kept bg fairly low.

B: scrambled eggs with cream. Smoked salmon.

L: 1/4 avocado, prawns and a massive dollop of homemade mayo. Orange chia pud with 5 raspberries.

D: bacon chop, Cumberland sausage (95%) asparagus, portobello mushroom filled with spinach and goats cheese. More mayo.

I’m thinking a modicum of cheese and a glass of red would go down nicely now.

@shelley262 I hate it when that happens. Hope it will be sufficient, they don’t need very much blood.

@Goonergal, hope the chocolate didn’t play too much havoc with your bg. I’m sure you’ll be back in control tomorrow, and sometimes it does the heart good to have a splurge.

Bed 6.7 FBG 6.5. No DP glad to say. Busy morning. Usual school run then back quick for my car getting picked up and off to the garage for its service and MOT. Then bus to new gym and typical it is chucking it down.
B. Inbetween everything 2 scrambled eggs and 1/2 Mattesons smoked sausage for speed.
L. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
D. Had a pork chop left so had that with the chipolte paste, slice GF black pudding, wilted spinach and Tesco had a new spiced cauliflower florets for roasting in with their prepped veg. Quite nice but not as spicy as the one I do myself. I am considering a scoop of Halo Top.
New gym is very nice. I saw 8 people from my old gym. None of them were in my class but the people there were very friendly - came across and introduced themselves. Not a fully made up , pink lycra type in sight. The other X's confirmed my findings - all very friendly and they like it. Back tomorrow again and No 1 grandson has agreed to come swimming on Friday.

A good clear out is very therapeutic.

Somewhat amazingly I’ve had my two lowest readings of the day post-dinner/pre-Pilates and post-Pilates. Suspect it will be a different story in the morning.

Worry about tomorrow in the morning. Maybe the pilates helped - did you find a beginner’s class? And are you still wobbling? I am.

Do you do your ribs in the IP, maglil? That has revolutionised how often ribs feature in this hacienda.

Yes, I found a beginners class. It is so much better than the one at the gym - the woman who runs it really takes time to understand each person and there’s lots of individual guidance during the class. Still wobbling!
