Thank you, yes I am proud, it proves that our dedication pays off and the support and encouragement we give each other is priceless.
I hope you and your wife feel better soon.

Thank you for the good wishes, it’s partly due to the friendship found here that helps us keep going and achieve success.

Thanks @jayney27. I think there is a bug doing the rounds and our first born came to see us yesterday and kindly passed it on

I think all of us would be tempted by a bulk delivery of Adonis products! I’m taking some as back ups to conference next week enjoy spicy ribs they sound great

Ok so most of us regulars to this thread are now aware that I took the plunge and checked my results ahead of my DN appt, due Friday morning, 38
B - peanut butter on LivLife toast
L - prawns with peppery salad leaves and yoghurt and rev dressing
Snack - Adonis and coffee
D - scallops wrapped in bacon with cauliflower mash followed by a couple of strawberries and cream

Evening all. Well, what an excellent day. Had so much good fortune this morning, I’ve bought a lottery ticket!!

I had an MRI scan scheduled for the exact start time of today’s one day international between England and Australia for which I had a ticket. Several attempts at calling the hospital over the past few weeks failed - telephone not answered. Called one last time this morning and not only was the phone picked up, but the nurse kindly rearranged my appointment so that I could go a couple of hours earlier. Then walked straight onto buses to get home and to the cricket and arrived at my seat just in time for the first ball. Not only that, in addition to the friends I was meeting, I found another friend that I haven’t seen in ages (since before diagnosis) at the match. A lovely day watching cricket, enjoying the sunshine and catching up.

Ate lunch and dinner. Lunch was chicken wings with Parmesan and pork crunch crumb, a dinky 20g pack of pork crackling (sold in packs of 6 in Sainsbury’s) and 20g of Waitrose 90% chocolate.

Dinner was more of the wings, shared with one of my friends who is also following a ketogenic diet, more chocolate and some salted almonds.

Followed up with a snack on the bus home of the remaining chocolate and a couple of mini babybels.

@shelley262 your puppy is tiny! Love your story on diabetes.co.uk - I’ve been asked to send my story too!

@jayney27 congratulations again!

@ianpspurs hope you feel better soon. Maybe the bug explains your higher than expected BG while fasting.

Some very appealing menus on here tonight although I have never tried the Adonis or Halo Top.
I'd never even heard about these Adonis bars until I read about them here. I didn't think I would like them but my tastes have changed and the amount of running about I do I thought they would be useful for a grab and go. Didn't intend to grab and go with 3 of them but fortunately the net carbs are low.
I'm telling myself today was an experiment as I had never tasted the Adonis brownie or greenie - at least that's my story!
Halo Top - oooh the most wonderful high protein ice cream. I manage to restrict myself to one scoop most of the time but the stuff is addictive and there are so many flavours.

Hope you’re doing your story would be inspirational and good luck with the lottery!

Just realised I didn’t post yesterday’s grub! So here it is:
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: ham with cauliflower, broccoli and sweet pepper salad followed by Greek yoghurt and strawberries (ran out of raspberries!)
Mid afternoon: Hartleys 10cal Jelly and black coffee.
Dinner: salmon fillets with creamy peppercorn sauce and mixed veg. followed by strawberries and chocolate hazelnut Oppo.

Edit interestingly I remember Janice from the low carb programme as I answered a few of her queries when she was starting out good to see how well she’s done. I did the full low carb programme when it was free and it helped me a lot especially in first few weeks when moving from highish carb eating to low carb but I also moved to this forum and used expertise here alongside the programme as, as I found out about Keto and IF I wanted to trial these methods alongside LCHF
