@jayney27 The silver lining theme sounds very familiarNothing wrong with having targets ...
Although I would prefer not to have received my diagnosis last year I really do see the silver lining, I am sure I wouldn’t lighter, healthy or fitter than I am now if that hadn’t happened so I’m thankful for the opportunity I got to make changes, some people aren’t so lucky.
@Diawara well done on the changes and there effect. As you say, diagnosis is not nice but much better than critical incidents. I hope your results in about a week prove your work for all to see,hi janey27..i agree with your comments re.silver lining etc. i call it the big wake up call! lightest and fittest for ten or more years i await my results in about a week
@Goonergal Thanks for the birthday wishes. Totally agree with the wake up call/kick up the whatsit meme. Perhaps the grit that makes the pearl!Hi all.
Happy birthday @ianpspurs
With you on the wake up call @jayney27 - definitely the kick up the proverbial that I needed.

Hi @Goonergal yes I think a lot of us needed a swift kick, thankfully we got it and it hurt enough to take notice and do something about itHi all.
Happy birthday @ianpspurs

Another OMAD day today. A bit hungrier than on the previous 4, but nothing major.
Dinner was 2 (very) small lamb cutlets, 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages and 2 rashers bacon followed by extra thick double cream mixed with Hotel Chocolat 100% buttons.
Edited to say that mixed grill looks awesome @Brunneria
Agreed @jayney27 and into the bargain we must be amongst the best monitored members of the population so no real excuse for further letting things get away.Hi @Goonergal yes I think a lot of needed a swift kick, thankfully we got it and it hurt enough to take notice and do something about it
Good evening everyone. Annual review time so bloods taken and weight and bp added to records. Both were best so far and bmi lower by 1 since December 19 - IF and fasting work on that at least! In theory today I had a free hit to eat whatever I wanted with no guilt. My choices today should show how much I am or aren't on board with LC. Menu below and I feel pretty stuffed but it is my birthday so whatevsNo testing tonight and no scales tomorrow morning for once. Wait for full results and set targets for next 6 months.
B: 1 pint tea with h/m almond milk
MMS 2 slices corned beef and beef from 1 of the bones used for bone broth earlier in week - First food for 64 hrs and after swimming and bloods - I was very hungry; 2 pints tea with h/m almond milk
L: Waitrose Americano with double cream
MAS: 2 slices mortadella (5 slices reduced to 89p so rude not to); Slice of Bishop Cropwell (also reduced so just being public spirited and saving waste); Mixed olives, sliced marinated garlic, mushrooms, chilies, feta cheese
D: Belly pork (slow cooked in sous vide overnight then crackling crisped on griddle) butternut squash chips, coleslaw; Red wine; strawberries and clotted cream later and maybe a G and T
For those on slightly higher carb regimes I found out Waitrose Cornish dairy vanilla ice cream is 12 gms carb per 100 mmls so I will test the spike or not later this month.
@DJC3 just quickly checked forum this morning and saw your news so so sorry for you and the whole family it will feel dreadful I’m sure and you really need to mourn and also look after yourself do take care of yourself lots of love, hugs and thoughts heading your way.Didn’t manage to post yesterday as Tilly sadly died last night so we drove up to Luton to see her and say goodbye. We didnt get home til nearly 1am. We are all in shock now and the house is SO empty.
B: a leftover DD naan bread from yesterday evening’s dinner, with butter and a poached egg. This was really nice and reminded me of potato farls or pancakes we used to have with a big weekend fry up
L: M&S prawn cocktail avocado and smoked salmon
D: none - we’d had the call by then and were bombing up the M1
2 spoonsful almond butter when we got home to try to kill the gnawing pain in my stomach, which wasn’t hunger.
@DJC3 Cod psychology I know but the hurting is a good sign. What kind of a person has a pet and doesn't feel pain at their passing?@Brunneria and @shelley262 thank you both for your condolences. Luckily I have no engagements today so will just sit and weep. I know it will pass but God it hurts now.
