Brilliant - you had me at tomatoes but then garlic and onion + keeps in fridge for 6 months all good. You also gave me an idea for rhubarb and pears poached in PX sherry or port. Sod the bg afterwards.
Edit: Scrap that, maybe a way to use some of the many bottles of Madeira I have. A job for the sous vide methinks.
You have started something now- I am yearning for a foie gras salad with Monbazillac (another mega stash) sorbet - the foie may well flatten the potential spike. Oh yeah, I might eventually find some love for the WOE but don't hold yer breath
Thanks for the "heads up" Nearest IKEA is Milton Keynes - no-one should have to suffer that indignity.I must admit I use smaller Kilner jars (c250ml) to keep it in, so that when I open one we get through it relatively quickly, rather than opening and closing bigger jars loads and loads of times.
I had a bit of a splurge on variously sized Kilner-styleeeeee jars in IKEA some time ago.

I read OH, whiplash and pleasure - I now have images I really need to get rid ofOh, when I have the dubious pleasure of visiting IKEA with my OH, I usually leave with whiplash, such is the pace he navigates the place.
Predictably, I usually end up going on my own. Our nearest is only about 15 miles away.
Oh, it's not something to dip a spoon into to taste; just as things like Knorr (other brands exist) Stock Pots are. As you say, a dollop into a dish is the way forward.I read OH, whiplash and pleasure - I now have images I really need to get rid of
Edit 2 hrs later: Made the veg stock so made good use of Nutribullet and IP. First time ever using tumeric root. The stock seems a little salty even though we toned it down. However, once mixed into dishes it should be fine. Also, we have learned loads and will develop sauces/stocks of our own now we have an idea to tweak. Thanks for that @DCUKMod
I used to love crystalised ginger, and only the other day I was musing of trying to make some with a lower-carb crystalisation.Any ideas, you sweet liking folks? @maglil55 , @ianpspurs , @Goonergal or anyone else for that matter?.
Just looked up monkfruit, 100g fructose per 100g. Is this not a problem for us?
Thanks, might give it a go.

Bread is my biggest missed food item too, I love fresh bread, really haven’t found anything that’s 100% acceptable as a substitute. Health has to come first thoughVery, very wild here. Emley Moor even got a mention on national weather for wind speed
Breakfast - High lo toast and butter
Lunch - Last of pate, salad, rollitos, and olives. Strawberries and extra thick cream.
Dinner - Lo-dough steak pasty, carrots, brocolli and cauliflower with gravy. Slice of almond bread with butter.

Not sure about the pasty, don't think I'll try that again. Not too bothered about never eating pie again, just the bread I miss (see above repetative breakfast of Hi lo toast)
