What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Enjoyed the sunshine today. Thought I’d seen the last of my shorts but got them out for a post work walk otherwise known as popping to Waitrose for some cream and returning with steak, rack of lamb, beef short rib, smoked salmon and an assortment of chopped fish.

Mid-morning - 25g almonds as lunch felt like it was a long way away.

Lunch - tin of tuna mixed with mayonnaise, one boiled egg and a pack of M&S pork crackling.

Dinner - 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages and 2 rashers bacon.

The sunshine was amazing here too, it definitely lifts spirits doesn’t it?
I always do what you did, pop in a shop for one thing and come out having spent a small fortune!

Glorious day here today wall to wall sunshine and a perfect blue sky :)
Coffee with cream when I got up followed by an omelette with mozzarella and mushroom
L was a repeat of yesterday, salad minus the chicken with the remainder of the chorizo crisps and chicken kebab
Almond milk cappuccino and phd bar when I got in
D Morrison’s beef kebab with chilli coating, egg, mushroom and celeriac chips

Evening folks

Ravenous today for some reason

Breakfast - Hi-lo toast and butter
Lunch - Three rashers of bacon with mushrooms in lo-dough (heated in pan with a spray of oil). Found the lo-dough much tastier this way. Strawberries and double cream.
Dinner - Home made tomato soup and flaxseed roll. L/c homemade ginger loaf. Square of Moser Roth 85%. Possibly more to follow.
More tea than @ianpspurs drinks :p

Very pleased with self, put on 2lbs due to massive double cream intake! No longer looking as scrawny so must have upped my calorie count. Not a problem in my carb laden days!!

Hope everyone is feeling well today!

Hi all
More serious hiking today went higher up mountains behind Thassos to Byzantine castle ruins then to Acropolis and finally to pans sanctuary serious climb and scramble at times! Spent late afternoon on beach and in sea water so warm. Even more archaeology sites planned for tomorrow.
Breakfast cheese and ham omelette
Lunch 15 sardines in lemon juice and olive oil
Dinner beef broth, pork souvlaki and salad and red wine followed by Greek yoghurt
Today’s avatar is in Byzantine castle ruins. Loving this island and hotel won’t want to go home!

Hello @DJC3 who I’m glad to hear is better, along with @jayney27
It was a short work trip but I didn’t give myself a punishing schedule so time for walks and 1 run.
Today I’m off to Liverpool working after a Derrick diabetes course!

Ooh I haven’t heard of a Derrick course. I went on a Desmond which wasn’t much cop, and I’ve also heard of Dafne. I guess that if the D is for Diabetes there might be a few such courses, there are a lot of names beginning with D
Well done for fitting in the walks and run while you were away.

Thassos sounds like a great place to visit. Love sardines - haven’t had them in ages.

I have set myself a challenge not to impulse buy food. When I arrived early for a coached gym session I went to the nearby supermarket to browse. Only thing I bought was a newspaper. Not claiming to be virtuous, though. Impulse buy yesterday was some fresh haddock from mobile fish van. I was not even off my own driveway when the lovely lad did his sales pitch.. How could I resist? Forgot that I had salmon to eat today, so have pigged out a bit. Brain food?

Looks like another perfect day, enjoy every minute x

Today:
B: Avocado with crunchy bacon. Ginger tea.
L: Salmon, Portobello mushroom, sliver of cheese, black coffee.
D: Haddock and leeks fried in butter, cheesy cauliflower mash, sparkling mineral water.
Had coffee mid afternoon, and so far, 2.5litres water.
Increased exercise to an hour gym and 25 mins swim. Have some blinds to hang and a bit of housework, but feet up watching Top of the Pops 1980s is more appealing at the moment. I am rather full of food.

Remembering one of your previous quotes about shopping - it’s a good thing Waitrose don’t sell jumpers.

@Tori71 We obviously need a drinkoff:angelic: Sunny day here probably last of its kind this year. Liked the food not too sure of efficacy but then I'm not especially good at this lark.

Evening everyone
@shelley262 Thassos really sounds like a fabulous place. I look forward to reading your daily posts.

It’s been a gorgeous sunny day here too, but I’m still a bit fed up about bgs which seem to be stuck at around 1mmol higher than they were at the beginning of summer. Didn’t get below 6.3 until 6pm today. Oh well.

B: 2bacon 1 fried egg and a few fried mushrooms. Coffee and cream

Mid morning Costa americano with cream

L: tin of mackerel in olive oil with salad leaves, 1/2 avocado 30g walnuts and a spoonful of milled flaxseed and psyllium ( bit too much psyllium - ended up an unappetising brown sludge where it met the olive oil dressing). Last remaining CCB for pud. Must make some more

D: Pork chop with 100g cauliflower ( as cauli cheese) and green beans , not very many as they were tough and stringy. 2 small glasses of red wine.

Bed 6.9 FBG 6.5. Still sitting high. Dropping fine during the day and the DP rise is declining as is usual after I've been unwell. Took in Aqua Zumba today then my 2 hr trip to see sister who is not good I'm afraid (brother was driving so it gave me a rest).
B. Scrambled egg and a Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing
D. Lo dough pizza with tomato, chilli, salami and mozzarella.
Chia Pudding 2 squares Lindt 90%.

I made macaroni with a lamb ragu for the boys (thank you IP) which No 2 (5 year old) was eyeing suspiciousmy. First bite and he announced "Hmmmm , actually this is very tasty" - so glad it met with your approval!

Can't remember the name of the one I was on but it was useless.

This reminded me that as I have increased my exercise programme, I need to consider and monitor fluid intake. I usually drink at least 2 litres of filtered water a day. Recently, I have been drinking less water, because been busy and too much water in = a lot out, so have to be close to WC.

I swear that sometimes most of my liquid intake just goes straight through me! I try to get through at least 2 litres of water a day too - also filtered, and discovered a couple of years back when I started getting leg cramps again, that I could also get magnesium supplemented fllters. My husband was rather snotty about these saying they were a con, but I've not had any problems since.

When I first moved down south I was "reliably informed" by other Northerner immigrants that Thames water was frequently recycled upstream before it eventually reached our tums, and as result I was likely to be cursed, at least initially, with "Berkshire Belly"! Thus the filters, but they do make my water taste better anyway...
