I feel the same I liked Kim-Joy, I know she was a little bit quirky but she was always happy and fun, Rahul was a bit too nervy and stressed for my liking.Gee , I'm just recovering from GBBO and now I have to gather soft things together to throw at the TV during the Apprentice.
Not sure how I feel about Rahul winning. He was always so miserable. I was a Kim Joy fan but she blew it with her showstopper.
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Day at my Mum and Dad’s who try their very best to accommodate my low carbing.
Lunch: hard boiled egg and cheese salad (mini plum tomatoes, sugar snap peas and celery) followed by dessert which I took with me, Greek yoghurt, raspberries and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon (oh no I had to swerve the biscuit tin!) Banana Carb Killa bar and black coffee.
Dinner: chicken casserole cooked by my Dad, fished out the broad beans from my portion, served with brocolli and new potatoes (I picked the smallest one!) followed by raspberries and cream.
I survived well, average blood sugar so far today 5.48
Now Jackie can sell there is no doubt about that but am I the only one who thinks she is a nasty devious piece of work. I accept there are more than a few on the Apprentice but the woman in particular seem worse than usual this year.
(Yesterday)
Breakfast - nothing, just not hungry and really tied up with phone calls to various services as my elderly mum is unwell
Lunch - homemade spicy soup (sweet potato, squash and onion with a lot of chilli) and toasted lo dough
Dinner - pan fried steak and veg
And more weight loss - I'm now 11lb down, without actually trying! My husband and daughter think I'm being really strict but I've not been hungry at all, it's just a case of finding substitute things to eat instead of the carbs I would normally have had. I feel like I'm eating as much as ever!
I still haven't booked it! Having real problems with my mum at the mo and she's just being admitted to hospital, so it's proving tricky to pin anything down but I'll try and get it soon. I really want it done way before Christmas so I can plan my eating!Brilliant @Kingmidas! Well done, that’s really encouraging. When’s your next HbA1c test?
Well done indeed! As my physio said to me make time for yourself although I do know how difficult it is when you are dealing with family illness at the same time. I'm sure you'll get a pleasant surprise when it's finally done and I hope your Mum recovers soon. xI still haven't booked it! I suspect they're "saving" Jackie for interview week. Her mauling would be pleasurable! I thought our Bollywood friend was a goner yesterday though. She is that, no doubt about it. This year though the men are annoying me much more than the women. Last week there was the chap who always had his mouth open looking gormless, then last night the miserable so and so. The Bollywood actor is just a waste of space posing all over the place. They are all so addictively awful!

She's got lifelong mental health issues and has had a series of infections which has resulted in a sharp decline - she's being admitted to hospital either today or tomorrow so she can be properly assessedMy sympathies for your worries over your mum, I hope she’s ok.
My favourite bit, I think it was from last year, was when one of them walked into the interview room and said 'Hi Claude!' in an over familiar manner. The withering look they received was awesome.Ooh yes - that’s my favourite week too. Makes me squirm that they all come so ill prepared.
My sympathies. I hate it when you look forward to a new creation and it's just not how you think it will be. The number of epic fails from low carb recipes I've tried (not from this thread I hasten to add).Evening all.
Congratulations @Kingmidas on your weight loss so far but sorry to hear about your mum.
No more apprentice spoilers @DJC3 and @maglil55 I have at least 4 episodes to catch up on!
Today’s menu includes a spectacular failure at dinner.
Lunch was smoked salmon and M&S whipped creamy cheese.
Dinner was a first attempt at a recipe posted on a carnivore Facebook group I’m a member of. Chicken wings coated in butter and a mix of paprika, salt and pepper. Who would have thought something so simple could go,spectacularly wrong. Way too much salt, way too much pepper. Ate a couple before binning the lot. Mouth is still in recovery. Have to head to Pilates shortly so no time to prepare anything else so have eaten a pack of salami and smoked cheese, but didn’t enjoy that either. Vile taste in mouth!
Bit of a curate's egg day for you and your mum - thought about a hug but gave a winner for the good news re hbaca1.Hi all funny day today good news and bad news
Bad news from mums apps diagnosis of glaucoma with possible blindness in about 15 years but - as mum joked to consultant- did he realise she’d be 103 then! Also two cataract ops on agenda one of which may be to quote same consultant be a “Christmas pressie” lots more caring lies ahead i think!
On the good news front we had mums hbaca1 results at her diabetic assessment at drs this afternoon and her hbaca1 had gone down to 35 from 55 - I’m thrilled for her. She said that she should share it with others that her hbaca1 could go down to normal and also that her kidneys haven’t deteriorated any more because she has being low carbing - moderately- she’s also lost a stone over last year all from her middle @Debandez sure you’d be interested that she wants to shout it from the rooftops that it’s never too late to discover low carbing - she’ll happily be on the tv am sofa with you!
