I made LCHF walnut fudge tonight, it's AWESOME!

That is a must keep recipe - I used to love fudge and haven't had any for years now. I notice further down she says to use the Philadelphia that comes in blocks - I've just checked Asda and its not listed - @PenfoldAPD which cream cheese did you use?

I just used Philadelphia from a tub! Worked ok. I'll try the recipe again, best news it had no effect on my FBG. Just butter eggs cream cheese dark cocoa powder and walnuts.

Love most of the Diet Doctor recipes too.

Hello
B. Summer fruits with yoghurt

L. Melted Camambert with a few walnut pieces (yes it's my current favourite)

62 minutes continuous swimming

D. Irish stew adapted, lamb chop, carrots, onions and swede with lots of pepper cooked in the pressure cooker. ( this was an experiment and it didn't raise my bs. It only went to 7.4) 5 strawberries with yoghurt.

You know what's coming next.............. Yep, a pomegranate pot :)

I'm new here. I'm trying low Carb out but is sweet potato considered low Carb ?

Breakfast was 2 oatcakes an apple

Linch was Omlette with salad and cashew nuts a banana before it

Dinner chicken salad sweet potato and some mayo

Should we be snacking ? I had 25g 70 % dark chocolate with nuts as my only snack today

Hello again. :)

No, sweet potatoes, while being lower GI that ordinary spuds do , actually, have more carbs.

As I said on your other thread, you really need a blood glucose monitor to see how your body reacts to different foods. We are all different and often react differently to foods. For instance just about everyone else are gone with mushrooms but I can only have small amounts.

For instance, if I go through your menu at your breakfast I would get high blood sugars from both the oatcakes and the apple. Better to have scrambled eggs done with butter.

About your lunch I definitely can't manage the banana - in fact I have occasionally used bananas to raise my blood glucose if I ever go too low. Omelette and cashew nuts are fine.

At your dinner I would be fine with the chicken, salad and (Hellmanns) mayo but not the sweet potato (although I love them).

Yes, snacks are ok - nuts, seeds, cheese, avocado - anything that is low carb. Chocolate is fine in moderation but stick to the very high % quality chocolate.

I'm not criticizing your good - it all seems lovely - I'm just saying how my body would react to it. :)

Breakfast - Bacon, scrambled egg and 2 small sausages (hotel buffet so not sure of carb content of sausages)

Lunch - Tuna mayo salad

Dinner - Nando's - half plain chicken, mixed leaf salad, coleslaw

Away from home so glad to have found decent low carb options for all meals. Had my lowest ever reading pre dinner - 5.0
