gunna get a "great" bgl reading in 90 minutes time.![]()
Sounds like an excellent plan. Nowt wrong with a drop of wine - a man after my own heart!!!
Sorry about the car. RAC are great though (touch wood) I have gone through 6 tyres in the last 2 years thanks to nails and every time the RAC has been there in 30 mins which is great. I think the fact I'm disabled and usually have 2 little people in the car makes the difference. RAC reckon all these nails are due to the amount of building going on in our area. Kwik Fit say the same as there has been an upsurge in tyres punctured by nails. Gets a bit scary as I've had a blowout with 2 of them.Well, so much for the hospital visit. Came out of our drive, turned right, turned left, turned left and the car started flashing urgent emergency messages on the dash board. Stopped car, looked under the bonnet, tried to start it again - nothing. Phoned RAC and told two hour. So walked home (8 mins) and had a LARGE G&T. Went back when nice mechanic man phoned to say he would be 10 minutes and was told it was something called the alternator. Looking at £300 to fix it!![]()
He followed us home and laughed when it was so close (8 mins by road, 2 mins as the crow flies). So I had another G&T. Hospital were great though (because I phoned as soon as we broke down) - just waiting for a new appointment now.
Mr C is treating his (car) misery with my 90% Chrimbo choc. Me: G&T Him: Chocolate - isn't this the wrong way round???
@Chook - I'm getting the slow cooker out today too for family dinner cooking. Sounds like you have a large slow cooker too? Sunday is Brunch for me too. By the time I potter about before I know it it's midday.
B/L after my 'can't be bothered cooking ' yesterday , today I had 2 Herta chicken frankfurters , 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 rashers of crispy bacon, 2 mushrooms and a duck egg.
D. Will be Monkfish slices with black pudding, chorizo and rocket probably with a bit of hot sauce in it. Slow cooked leg of lamb with shallots, celery, peppers, broccoli, green beans and cauliflower mash. Sugar free jelly, mixed berries and extra thick double cream.
Campari and soda and a wee dry prosecco.
Better go for a shower now before we hit midday!
That raised a smile! Even I was having trouble working that one out. Meantime hubby has just done all my dishes from earlier. And hoovered while I clean the toilets !'Mingling' how did auto-correct get that from monkfish
That dinner sounds delicious. I've not tried celeriac ... what does it taste like and is it low carb?Today
Brunch: Eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, grilled tomato - out of this lot its the mushrooms that are the treat. They always raise my BG and have no idea why.
Dinner: Slow cooked huge pork shoulder joint in lemon, fennel, white wine and olive oil, low carb mash (cauliflower and celeriac) brussels sprouts and more cauliflower but roasted with fennel seeds this time.
I love swede ... might give them fritters a try. Whoever said low carb was boring?B: bacon and egg in cafe.
L: hungry, cos of the tiny portions in the cafe, so had more bacon and a cheesy 2 minute muffin
D: will be DietDoc rhutabaga fritters with smoked salmon again. Can't wait. The scent of those gorgeous fritters as they cooked was delicious. Looking forward to a repeat.
