What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Have you been eating Lindt 90%?

I'm still searching for a replacement for one of my Curly Reds which died. It's a bad corner - wind howls around ìt so I may stick with annuals. I've got some Strawberry and the raspberry dianthus which I've planted there before and osteosperum seems to do well too. The sleeves are pŕogressing.

I quite like the 90% - I've had higher - Mr C got me some of the 100% from Hotel Chocolat - now that IS an acquired taste that I haven't yet managed to acquire. I used a lot of the 90% at Christmas making a chocolate torte and those Delia inspired truffles.

We bought a load of Star Yellow surfinias - really pretty as they are a yellow with a pink edging.

I like that. That would be nice in the sleeves/planters as I still need more. Still to get other trailers too.

Skipped breakfast...got up too late :)
Lunch..... Chopped spinach, boiled ham lashings of mayo
Dinner....3 egg cheese and ham omelette with one small tomato
Sugar free jelly
Snack if any will be small packet of pork scratchings and maybe a few almonds
**Already lost weight.....nurse weighed me in wearing clothes and heavy trainers and after drinking several glasses of water which all add up. I weighed myself without my trainers when I got home and ''lost'' 2 pounds right away. I was actually 10 stone dead when I weighed myself first thing and without clothes so I am starting from there. I am now 9st 11.8 :)...at least it's going in the right direction now :)

Breakfast - skipped. Liver dump took me up to 8.3, but was down to 5.5 before lunch.

Lunch - bolognese with courgetti and grated cheese; small amount of cream and 1 square if Lindt 85%, which didn't have the same BG lowering qualities that @maglil55 has been experiencing with the 90%

Dinner - tuna mayo with rocket and baby plum tomatoes; 3 teaspoons of cream

Weird isn't it? I'm kind of praying that my liver has finally gone into a controlled dump. I got down to 4.8 today and the pre breakfast rise hasn't been nearly as bad. I'll be higher tonight but that's down to the Sunday dinner and my couple of drinks but it is odd that my BG has gone down with the 90% Lindt.

Breakfast - My usual porridge made with coconut milk, and three teasps of Chia seeds/flax seeds mixed in, plus a handful pumpkin seeds and 8 fresh raspberries.
Lunch - Tried some Philadolphia cream cheese with an avocado mashed into it on 3 Nairn Oatcakes (yummy)
Dinner - Chicken breast with bacon, leeks, brussel sprouts, green beans and baby peas
Snack- Walnuts, Brazil nuts and a few Almonds

The 90% Lindt thing is weird, but a nice weird!

What have you done to get the liver dump under control? Every time I think mine is sorting itself out, it seems to get worse again - my weekly average is currently higher than both the fortnightly and 30 day averages - and for no obvious reason.

I think a controlled experiment is called for regarding the Lindt chocolate. I have ordered one bar each of the 70% 85% and 90% for delivery on Friday and will eat them two squares at a time pre-breakfast (except for fasting days) to see if any (or all) of them lower my DP.

Yes, I'm prepared to sacrifice myself in the interests of science. ;)

Saturday just Dinner, which was steak, lardons braised with shallots, mushrooms, chantenay carrots red wine, garlic and rosemary with coli rice, and some wine :D
Sunday
L: Cheese and tomato salad
D: Roast chicken dinner, pots, snips brocolli and asparagus was 5.9 after 2 hours
S: Some white wine and almonds - woke up to a 7.5 :(

That really is taking one for the team! Kudos to your dedication.

I would join you, but I just can't get the 85%+ thing. 70-75% is lovely, more than that, and I just want to grate it into a drink or dessert.

Nothing I'm aware of and I've just posted on the Diet Doctor thread that despite the Sunday meal my BG isn't too different to yesterday. Maybe like that daft photo I posted my liver has had the supply sucked out of it or maybe the answer really is prosecco and 90% Lindt?
I've been checking the Libre movement as well as the finger pricks and it does go up a little but not out with my set range but interestingly it is turning almost immediately and heading downwards. Not getting too excited yet - if I'm still like this in a month I may start to believe DP has left the building.

Not the

Not the 99%?

I now find the 70% stuff too sweet

That's a big sacrifice. You'll need to repeat it with a mini bottle of prosecco though.

Just reading back the last few days menus on this thread - how can anyone say that low carbing is boring!

I do love prosecco but the only day I have some at breakfast is Christmas Day (which, thinking about it, might be the reason why I always have very low BG on Christmas Day.) o_O:wideyed::wacky:

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

If my experiment works I wonder if I could get it (the chocolate) prescribed???

Last lot my DD bought, but you don't see it in the aisles of Tesco. I think the last I bought was in the Coop, local waitrose also stock it

I can't remember the last time I saw a Waitrose and our local Coop is shut down for refurbishment (and it really needed it) but I'll keep a look out for the 90% while I'm out and about. :)
