What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Continuing the saga of Lindt 90% in the interests of scientific research I waited before consuming 2 squares of lindt. Late afternoon my body is usually looking for food and I usually get a slow rise until dinner. I was at 5.4 and had 2 squares of lindt. Just checked and I'm now at 5. This stuff is better than Metformin for me!

Just had a square of 85% to finish off dinner. Hoping for a good reading in a couple of hours.

Evening all.

Blood sugar good again today, despite a pre-breakfast rise from 5.8 to 7.5, back down to 5 before lunch and again before dinner.

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs and 20g cheese (loving Cathedral mature cheddar portions)

Lunch - out at a work lunch; smoked salmon with eggs and avocado. Ditched the sourdough it came with and was offered potatoes instead by the waitress, which I politely declined

Dinner - home made burgers with tomato, onion, spinach and feta; broccoli with a bit of butter; 1 square of Lindt 85%

Figures today were 6.2 bed FBG 6.7 and pre breakfast (which was brunch) 7.1.
This was unheard of. If I didn't eat breakfast quickly I'd rocket to the 9's and 10's even - not happening now.
B/L boiled egg, lettuce, 2 vittoria tomatoes, 1 Slice M&S extra lean corned beef and 1 Slice thin boiled ham, bacon bits and helmanns. Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream.
D. M&S cajun chicken flattie (these are new in and they have loads of different fatties. Really nice) and aubergine and courgette parmigana.
Haven't made a parmigana for ages. Really enjoyed it.
Before dinner I had 2 squares Lindt 90% which yet again dropped the BG.

Flatties NOT fatties- auto correct strikes again!

How interesting!! So.... 20g of 70% does all sorts of good things to us (and it tastes good!)

I have always maintained that chocolate should be re-classified as a 4th macronutrient or food group, or... well... Whatever justifies us eating regularly.

Some people claim they don't like it. Poor things. I try to cultivate them as friends. More choc for me, that way.

:D

Cheese omelette and mushrooms

Smoked salmon, mushrooms, avocado and mayo

Beef and mushroom stew, cauli rice and leek in cream

1/2 Lidl roll with cheese and Marmite

2 squares of Lindt 85%

Cheese omelette and mushrooms

Smoked salmon, mushrooms, avocado and mayo

Lidl Chicken/Turkey Frikadellen burger in a Lidl roll with 5 celeriac chips and some broccolletti in cream (12g carb for the burger and 10g for the roll will make it quite a high carb intake for me today - results may be interesting!)

I use a Portobello mushroom as a half 'bun' with a burger. I keep meaning to have a go at the Diet Doctor rolls. I know I couldn't eat that many carbs in one go now. Wonder if the lindt 90% would help on the back of it?

It should have been a fasting day but my FBG was high and I needed to eat to stop it getting any higher, so:

Breakfast: Egg, bacon, chipolatas, mushrooms, grilled tomato

Lunch: Nothing

Dinner: Ham and cheese salad with some Hellmans

Yummy menu! Mr Chook loves smoked haddock but only has it as a breakfast item - when you have the smoked haddock for dinner with salad do you have it hot or cold??

L: Home made chilli burger, bacon, brattie and salad
D: Smoked salmon, homemade coleslaw and new pots in butter

Now I have the nibbles :O A few nuts and 4 squares of 85% Coop choc and its not even bed time

What is brattie?

Figures continue to be good. Bed on 6.2 FBG was 6.4 and pre breakfast a mere 6.8. Despite having a run around with the boys I was able to have a grab and go as hubby had boiled me a new egg stock for the fridge.
B. Boiled egg on the go
L. Slice boiled ham, thin slice cured beef, 1 plum tomato, lettuce, bacon bits, Helmanns and a Tassimomorning coffee with cream.
D. Beef strips with chilli , onion , peppers and greens beans, sprouts and spinach.
Had the 2 squares of 90% and yes BG dropped again.
