What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B. Chunky porridge (oats, barley etc) 25g carb with cinnamon and almond milk, really small piece chopped banana and chopped pecans.
L. M and S cauliflower and chickpea salad, small piece cheddar, several crackers, olives, 3 dried dates.
Snack. Salted mixed nuts, G and slimline tonic.
D. Vegetable chilli made with Quorn mince.
It has been one of those days. Wet weather and small victory over rip-off plumbing company. No exercise. Inverse relationship between food consumed and exercise??

Evening all
@Goonergal thanks for Lidl tips.
No breakfast again as not hungry and bgs have been a bit higher first thing last few days - not much but bloods for hbaca1 are being taken in three weeks time so being a bit stricter!
Lunch range of cheeses - Comte, Stilton and vintage cheddar
Dinner beef casserole served on bed of buttered cabbage (not had for ages as upset digestion last time but am giving it another go!) followed by last slice of choc olive oil cake it’s been best one so far and sad it’s finished.

Today’s menu
Slice of low carb toast with peanut butter for breakfast
Lunch was salad, roast turkey and mayo
Dinner more salad, hot dog sausages stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, delicious, sour cream and chive dressing

Reading before dinner 5.8 but I had just drunk a cappuccino, needed a pick me up, busy but not very productive day at work :banghead: Will update with the 2 hr reading

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream (2 tsp) washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: 2 x scrambled eggs with toast (1x slice of HiLo) with Marmite followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: lemon chia pud and black coffee.
Dinner: Sweet chilli chicken curry with cauliflower rice and one mouthful of my daughter’s naan, followed by low carb carrot cake and cream left over from the weekend.

Bed 7.4 FBG 7.3. BGs fine apart from another shot of DP up to 9.3. At least I know the problem. Hubby has been coughing and spluttering for 3 days and now...I've got it. Just when I'd recovered from the last one.
B. Scrambled egg and a bit smoked salmon. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing
D. Leftovers - 2 slices mortadella, bit deli turkey, 1/2 Slice pork, 3 marzanno tomatoes, lettuce, 1/2 avocado, tablespoon coronation chicken.
Last of the mint Halo Top with a bit 90%. Nice and cool on the throat.
Got my new gym sorted from 1 May. Decided to go for the Club. Pool isn't as big as current place but the mix of members is similar and a lot from my current place have joined.

Forgot to post earlier, 2 hr reading was 6.3 so considering I’d had my cappuccino as well that’s not a big rise, back to 5.2 now

Hello all.

@maglil55 -- so sorry to read that you've got a cold/flu. This would really explain, though, why you have seen higher blood sugar levels lately. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you recover quickly.

The Adonis bars finally arrived yesterday, @Rachox. Thanks again for the suggestion, they are really, really good. Had them for dinner plus two wiener sausages yesterday (Yes, I know a really weird combination, but got home late from work yesterday and no energy for anything more elaborate.) Blood sugars before 5.1, blood sugars two hours later 5.1 -- so really great.

Yesterday:

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. About 100g of tartar with two fried eggs. A ramekin with chocolate mousse and clotted cream mixed with orange peel oil and erythritol (couldn't finish it, was so stuffed.)

Lunch: Nothing.

Dinner: As above.

Bed 5.2 FBG 5.3 - that's more like it although annoyingly still got a DP of 8.6. Throat is still sore and I went back to bed for a couple of hours.
B. 2 Costco Riverway premium pork chipolatoes. 95% pork, gluten free, taste delicious and only 1.5g carbs in 2 sausages. 2 rashers back bacon, fried egg and a vine tomato.
Tassimo Americano Grande with a dash of cream.
L. Scoop of Halo Top to cool my throat.
D. 1/2 Mattesons smoked sausage with parmentier celeriac (well there's parmentier potato so I don't see why celeriac won't work too).
2 squares Lindt 90% - all this bunny talk is getting to me.
It is a truly horrible day. It is cold and it has been pouring down almost all day. No wonder we are all succumbing to bugs.

Evening all
Well I’ve been influenced and ordered some Adonis bars which will be arriving tomorrow - they will be useful when out and about, they are a bit pricey but if can take on train etc or when stop at service station etc not as pricey as what is sold there for snacks and low carb unlike what’s on offer there!
Brunch cheese omlette
Dinner bolognese sauce served with 30g of bean pasta and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. Followed by coffee and two squares of Lindt 90% chocolate (all this talk of Lindt chocolate!]
Bloods down a bit again - so seems that my longer daily fast for last few days seems to have worked. Fasting is a good tool to use but I need to be careful as not keen to lose any more weight getting balance right needs thought!

Hi all

Fasting worked and overnight I dropped 0.7kg of the 1kg I put on while away.

Planned to fast again today but didn’t happen.

No breakfast.

Lunch was 20g of Willie’s 72% Venezuelan chocolate and a small bag of mixed nuts.

Dinner was fathead pizza with pepperoni and Polish turkey sausage (called something like Zywiecka), followed by a small portion of lazy mousse. Pizza was the best one I’ve made - not quite sure what I did differently but it was crispier than usual.

What is a fathead pizza? Looks delicious!
