Hi all hope good day had by all - mine was stressy this am but to correct the stress I went ‘forest bathing’ this afternoon two hours walking into the depth of forest near home drank decaf coffee with cream from flask by a fast running stream and so now back to my usual self.
Breakfast one third of a buttered Lidl roll and boiled egg
Lunch range of cheese, celery and three lc herby crackers
Dinner salmon in lemon butter with asparagus and cauliflower cheese. Will probably have a bit of choc with coffee later.
Have good evening all

Good evening all and I hope a good day has been experienced by each. Significant other's boo not 100% tickety today - until I wanted to prep something in the IP (https://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-cassoulet/) - apparently a miracle cure.
Breakfast: Tea - 1 mug with inulin 1 without - both 1.5 pints
Brunch: Swimming then lemon and ginger tea with chums; tea on returning home
Lunch: Dog walk; tea (another tsp of inulin ) and very tiny Dr Almond cookies?
Evening meal: Very large salad of Chicken thighs and avocados with lots of chia seeds - I was a very hungry caterpillar by 17.30. Maybe cocoa later once I have done my ward rounds
Getting quite self-sufficient now. Can use washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, both vacuum cleaners, steam cleaner, all coffee machines, IP. Alexa deals with most other things.

Yikes. I have the clear plastic one but it was impossible for catching them on the floor. I changed it to one of these things that looks like a pastry brush with plastic bristles on a long handle. You secure the offending creature in the bristles then deposit it outside (or out the window if upstairs). Makes it a lot easier to catch the speedy Gonzalez monsters on the floor. Just found the link

Hiveseen Bug Spider Insect Catcher, Household Practical Spider Insect Catcher Pest Control with 25.6inch Handle (Green) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HG63TV9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CGCpCbC51WDB4

Handle keeps you far enough away from the things.

Thanks. That’s very similar to what I have, but when they’re up against the skirting boards it doesn’t work - or I have poor technique! Just sent it scuttling off. Thankfully no further sightings so the black blob on the skirting board under the bed that I hoovered up must have been mr spider.

@shelley262 I love the sound of your stress busting forest bathing. Glad you’re back to normal now.

Late breakfast after having to wait for AA to fix my car after I’d dropped Mr C at the station and it conked out - 1/2 avocado scrambled egg and smoked salmon. Coffee&cream

Was going to skip lunch but got hungry after trudging into town with bags of records and stuff for charity shop - 1/2 pack rollitos and a small handfull Callebaut choc buttons with clotted cream. More coffee.

Dinner kobi kheema ( mince and cabbage curry) with cauli rice and a dessertspoon of dahl. Havent tried lentils since lc so fingernail chewing now while waiting for 2hrs.
A spoonful of Oppo choc and hazelnut ice cream afterwards.
Girls are off to the gym in a bit but don’t think I can face the January crush. I’ll do something from Youtube at home.

Sounds like you needed forest bathing too after your experience with the car it’s so frustrating when they go wrong.

Weird isn't it? They are numb but really hurt!! Can'r really explain it to people

Loving the weebles, they wobble but they don't fall down? I beg to differ in my case:hilarious:
It is a difficult one to explain. I think my OH sort of gets it now as he does offer to work on my legs if they seize up at night to try to get some movement in the muscles.

Breakfast just a cup of tea
Lunch - 2 chilli & lime chicken quarters with some mayonnaise
Mid afternoon - cappuccino
Had a wonderful dinner planned but in laws ‘popped’ round for 2 hrs after work so I had to entertain them whilst doing homework and the usual after school routine, husband was off at dental appointments still trying to resolve all the Vegas issues he had with not much success - seems he may need hospital referrals :( and then whilst sorting out my princess for bed I saw a headlice. That’s right, one week back at school and here we are :banghead: so I’ve spent the last 90mins conditioning and nit combing every inch of her hair - there’s a lot of inches, it’s down to her bottom and incredibly thick!!
It now feels too late to cook, too late to eat, and my own head now feels that itchy and I know it just psychological because I’ve been looking for crawling things for so long but now I’m gonna have to go all through my hair too for peace of mind!!
Oh well, it’s almost tomorrow and it can only be better than today :D

Nature can work wonders. It's been a while since I did any 'shinrin yoku' - such a great way to de-stress and recharge. Now that's a plan for this weekend.....

I feel your pain. No 2 was having a good scratch too so I suspect the weekly comb will be a few days early. Wish the schools would get a bit more proactive in getting parents to regularly check their kids heads instead of worrying about upsetting them.

Arrrggg! Sorry had to get that out of the way first. Is it possible for we the people to have a vote of no confidence in the whole flamin' lot of politicians?
Now that's out of my system - bed 6.1 FBG 5 so much better. Kitchen cupboards continue with the reorganisation. I'll be at it a while yet though. Think I'm heading to recycling again tomorrow.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Can't really call it lunch. It was 4 pm. Slice of Morrisonshigh protein wholemeal with ham and mustard.
D. 4 Tesco chorizo and gouda rollitos. Hamburger with 4 Santini tomato, 4 button mushrooms, few veggie chips, 1/2 avocado.

Settling down to Silent Witness now.

I check her hair all the time as the idea of her being riddled with them stresses me out way too much as she has so much hair! I only did it Saturday. Thankfully I’ve caught early as only found the one I saw plus 2 freshly laid eggs so I’d say he jumped on board her head today as hasn’t had time to start a colony. French plaits as tight to her head as I can get will be tomorrow’s style

Oh I remember those days. My 3 girls were forever getting them. In the end I had their lovely long blonde hair cut short - I think they looked cute with their little pudding bowl hairdo’s but they say I scarred them for life! It was so much easier to deal with when they had short hair though, I don’t regret it.

You’ve made my head itch now!

Sorry - it’s like yawning. Just talking about itching is contagious :joyful: My hair is short and it was as a child - my choice though. I’ve never been a fan of long hair. But she adores hers, sits brushing it In the mirror like Rapunzel. And its taken me 5yrs to master the French plaits, Dutch braids, fishtails etc. She would genuinely never forgive me if I gave her the chop

okra. Cigarette smoke, old, new, and permeating a room, wafting from a balcony, etc etc. That I have so many chronic diseases. That I take so very many meds. Being cold. Anything too loud, but specifically non-classical music and the television.
@ianpspurs aha! Now I know what cassoulet is! The rich man’s Brunswick stew!!
@dunelm that pizza is going on my shopping list Right Now! Thanks for posting link
Oh @Emma_369 arrgghh! I am So Sorry!!!! Ugh ugh ugh. I was soooo fortunAte, lice would run through my kids’ classes periodically, but neither on ever had them. Boys are easier anyway.
@maglil55 glad you can vent here, right? I’m not even going to think about my side of the pond... Your kitchen project is monumental! And hurray bg’s
Enough with the contagious itching please Between those lice and my brown recluse spider I’ve got the jumpy heebie-jeebies! I was taught as a child never to share a comb or brush, and never put your coat in a pile with others’ coats. Never was told why, “it’s cleaner”. Sometime before kids, a colleague asked to borrow my comb before going onstage, and do you know, I couldn’t do it! Such a prude....
Bfast is mentioned earlier.
Lunch celery, tomatoes, almond butter with my bread, and a piece of new type chocolate: Lindt 90%! 1.75 (net) carbs per square, but either my mouth is suddenly cooler, or it doesn’t melt as well. Tasty anyway.
Supper Cream of Green Stuff Soup with Chicken and Parmeggiano (sp?)
A piece of my bread (fiber needs lol)
IMG_7374.jpg

I learned a few things: 1. I put too much tarragon in the stock. 2. Tarragon and cream are very nice together, even though I’ve never really likes tarragon. 3. Chicken in that combo is tasty!
And another square of chocolate (which is melting better!). I need chocolate for un-depressing. I was so very busy and distracted in the 8 weeks leading to the New Year that I did not properly mourn something that was to happen (and did) on New Year’s Eve. I think I’m mourning now...
