Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and Mississippi phd bar.
Late Lunch: a small packet of Cheesies followed by Greek yoghurt, coffee chia pudding and LC Chocolate granola.
Dinner: Chinese takeaway, crispy duck, two small pancakes and a smidge of sauce with cucumber and spring onions followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.
Made some more granola today as I’m off back to Mum’s midweek and my stock is running low

@DJC3 I did used to eat meat and my absolute favourite lamb shank recipe was put in roast pan (slow roast) squeeze over whole lemon plus shed loads of fresh oregano, lemon shells (squeezed) plus another lemon cut in half, a couple of whole garlic bulbs cut cross the way and a huge splodge of decent olive oil and a tablespoon of honey drizzled then lid on or a close fitting foil lid and slow roast four hours. Yum!!!

Sounds absolutely wonderful. I did add a lemon zest to mine today but the long slow cooking would have suited it better I think. Next time!

Breakfast, CWC x2 one slice of toast with mixed nut butter.
CWC
Lunch: 2 slices of Ham, rest of the potato salad, little more than one tablespoonful, not as much as two, cucumber. Really annoyed with myself for mistiming the planting of lettuce, as now there is very little available in the garden. Didnt fancy radish.
Dinner: BBQ at neighbours, so olives and peanuts, few cheese biscuit type nibbles.
Pork chop, deliciously tender, sausage, coleslaw and mixed salad. Copious wine although also many glasses of water.
Home made tiramisu, refused the first portion, which was huge. Accepted second smaller one. Later shared a chocolate brownie.
@DJC3 , no guilt at all about blackberries.
Little bit about the brownie though.
And the late night snack of @MrsA2 cauliflower cheese bread, When I got home (made to take with me but not quite cooked through.) What was I doing?
@Muddy Cyclist Hope your mood improves soon, house clearing can be emotionally draining. It's good that some things are staying in the family. I have some kitchen items from an aunts house. They still remind me of her, even after more than a decade. These ordinary utensils would never mean anything to another person.

Evenin’ All,

B: was pizza eggs - I just popped eggs into a wide ramekin, added a dash of cream, seasonings, 3 small slices pepperoni and some grated cheese on top. Then 15 mins in air fryer.
L: forgot to eat
D: pork ribs

@Rachox that looks so good

Meant to be extra low carb today to make up for yesterday.
Have learnt its not a good idea to go food shopping when hungry so an 11 o'clock chicken thigh was called into action.
Did mange to resist most temptation so got home in time for
L one chicken thigh, small bit of ham and small salad followed by 50g of a new low sugar icecream at 6g for the 50g portion. Was ok but not really worth it.
D was 1 burger and 3 chipolatas from bbq with small salad. Tried the ice cream again, this time with added melted 85% chocolate and a teaspoon of clotted cream. Much tastier, but in future will save the carbs and just have the chocolate and cream

Morning all. Unusually exhausted after my walk yesterday and fell asleep on the sofa not long after dinner and went straight from there to bed at around 8pm! Up later than usual but still sleepy (is there a puzzled emoji?)

@shelley262 happy 45th anniversary and have a great break in Wales.
@Chook lomg time since I ate sweet corn, but it had the same effect on me (as did peas!)
@Brunneria pizza eggs sound like a fab invention. May well be copying that idea

Well, with all the talk of Godiva on here recently, I succumbed yesterday as I discovered a Godiva shop!

Stopped at Canary Wharf on my walk, mainly for use of decent loos and an early lunch at Five Guys (bunless bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and a smidge of mayonnaise). Shop had a small display of delicious looking individual cakes. Bought the 70% dark tart - ganache on some kind of base. Just ate the ganache, which was too sweet really, but good. Didn’t make BG rise too much - about 1.5, probably due to being eaten mid-walk! Scoffed too quickly to get a pic.

Dinner was picked up from Waitrose on my way home - spatchcock poussin with a salt and 4 pepper marinade. Delicious.

Was th chicken already cooked, or did you rotisserie it? I'm still smarting from forgetting to get my chicken leg out of the freezer for Friday's dinner. I'm even holding s grudge against myself. My fired eggs just weren't the same.

Morning All
Yesterday did quite a bit outside in the morning.
Breakfast was usual slice HiLo toast, butter, lots of tea.
Lunch was pile of egg mayo on another slice HiLo toast, side salad.
Supper was stir fried beef rump with oriental veg only for me with ginger and Teriyaki sauce and accompanying noodles for Mr PM.
Today same breakfast.
Lunch will be two scrambled eggs with cold leftover bacon from Mr PM’s Breakfast.
Supper will be big lamb chump chop panfried with fried cubed aubergine (to use it up) in the pan juices. There may be a snifter or two beforehand. Red wine with the lamb would be nice but dont think we have any. I rarely drink wine and only red whereas Mr PM drinks copious amounts of only white. Jack Sprat and his wife.
@shelley262 congratulations and enjoy the anniversary trip.
@SlimLizzy didnt like the look of that snake and it was big!

No wonder you fired the eggs :hilarious:

Had to cook the chicken - as it was spatchcocked when bought, I air fried it on a shelf rather than using the rotisserie function. Turned out well - may try that with a whole bird - less faff.

Does your variant of the AF have the discs and skewers for kebabs and such? I imagine that'd be a great way to do spatchcock.

Yes, it does. They’ve been put in a cupboard, but that’s a good idea.

@shelley262 I hope you have a lovely time away and, of course, happy anniversary
@SlimLizzy we get snakes here too. Mainly grass snakes but adders as well. Over the years they have expanded their territory from just being on the nearby moor to now occasionally being found in people's gardens. They absolutely terrify me!

Breakfast: (my main meal today) usual Sunday brunch - chaffle, fried eggs, mushrooms and 100g baked beans
Lunch: nothing
Dinner: a sweet potato wrap (one of this week's Asda subs) with houmous, red onion and salad - the wrap is Bfree and are 13.9g carbs per wrap .... subbed for Mr C's normal wraps (I think he wants me to try them first in case they are awful).

Tonight will be easy, leftovers from yesterday :)
Should have been green beans and mushrooms with marinated pork belly pieces, but I hadn't been paying attention in the supermarket so the green beans were all slimy and yuck when I took them from the bag.

Good thing I always have veggies for the guinea pigs :)
Onions, mushrooms and broccoli with Chinese black bean sauce tasted good as well.

Need to make something to eat for tomorrow though, as I'll be sailing again. The celeriac has gotten pretty old and dried out by now, so maybe I'll make an omelet or such to take with me, not sure yet. If any of you have a good idea for what to take with me, please tell me!

This time I'll go with my cousin and her teenage children. They live a 4 hour drive away but are having their holiday 15 minutes from my place, whare they swapped houses with another cousin of ours. Pretty genius way to plan your holiday, especially when you have a family of six!

At the moment our butcher preps meat in the back shop and holds it up as he approaches the wrapping station to show the size, but it's pretty dark in the shop, so I couldn't see that it was the wrong cut. There is a counter of meat, but it's always the best cuts on show, and the pies and wrapped meats, so anything I want that is different, which it usually is - I like the slower cooked cuts which are not on show - have to be brought through from the back shop. This is the way they have organised their working during this pandemic. I might have got the wrong stuff, but it's better than the plastic wrapped meat from the supermarket.

Next time I put an order in I will see if he can supply lambs' hearts. My mother used to cook sheep's heart, stuffed with (I think) barley but I have no idea how she cooked it. In the oven, I think, but how long for? What temperature? No idea. Does anyone know? Not that I think I could get hold of sheep's heart anyway - can't even get mutton. Lambs' hearts are smaller and I do know how to cook them but haven't done so for a long time. I'm not sure that they will have them. It's still too soon to be ordering more meat, but I had to go to town yesterday, so I thought I'd just pop in and get one bit of meat, on the way past. Maybe next week.
My Mum used to do lambs hearts a lot but I was small at the time. I do remember both her and Granny eating them. As a fussy youngster I didn't partake.

There are two, one of which we also have in the UK, but both are uncommon and shy.

In Canterbury, where I was brought up, we used to walk on the golf course near our house. We were told that there were adders there, but never saw one. I gather they are very shy and stay away from people and their dogs, so maybe that's why. I never saw a grass snake in the wild either - just one brought in to the primary school I attended. On the Islands, there are no snakes, I'm glad to say. The only way they could get here is by swimming 40+ miles across the Minch.

1st meal today - about 12.30 - was some rolls of prosciutto filled with soft cheese and shredded lettuce. About 200 calories and no more than 6 carbs.

This afternoon I will give myself a push and make some soup, which should also be low in carbs, not sure about the calories, but I have about 800 in hand so shouldn't exceed that.

Before my daughter was born I did some research on what you feed babies transitioning from milk to solids. One of the recommendations was lambs hearts and carrots pureed - it was her favourite. (And another recommendation was sweetbreads..... ewwww). I wonder if young mums feed their little ones those sorts of unusual things nowadays?

I have a great picture of Em, at about 10 months old, with a barbecued rib which she absolutely loved! She rejected her chicken and carrot meal when she saw that we were eating the far more interesting ribs. I tried to attach the picture, but the site wouldn't have it. The JPeg was too large apparently. Shame, it's worth looking at. She still eats a great variety of food but is becoming a bit more picky now that she's nearly 8!

Bed 8.2 FBG 7.8. BGs are still high but yesterday I was snuffly and my arms were agony. Felt as if they were very heavy and sore. Thankfully, that's passed too. I still seem to be relapsing but the periods are getting shorter and less severe. Who know, one of these days I might manage to get an antibody test but there again....
@DJC3 - I did laugh at your sleep talking experience. I guess she was greeting you during the night rather than "every morning". @Chook - one of my former colleagues had a baby boy that slept with his eyes open which was very creepy looking. You don't, however, want to tell someone their baby looks creepy
B. Yesterday - slice toasted LC bread with ham and coleslaw. TAG.
L. Nothing - went out for cream.
D. It was going to be chicken parmigiana but oddly I'd only put one chicken breast in the cooked dish which Hubby claimed so, as there was plenty sauce, I made a "pizza omelette". Cooked my omelette in the usual way, puffed it up under the grill and then spread the surplus tomato, mozzarella, oregano sauce over - there we go, pizza omelette! Has it with wilted spinach and a few veggie chips. 4 strawberries.

@Annb - glad to know I am no longer the sole owner of the giant egg slicer. I've used it for cheese, avocado and Hubby has used it on banana.
