What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

0900hrs B chia seed pud , nuts berries and greek yogart
1300hrs chicken breast + veg
1830hrs keto lasagne with broccoli and asparagus wrapped in parna ham done in oven
5 cups black coffee
90%chocolate 3 squares
Few almonds

Bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, tomatoes two slices toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Nothing for smoko.
Junk food left overs for lunch.
Corned silverside done for seven hours in the slowcooker, veggies, mustard sauce for supper at six.

11:15 hm ff yoghurt with raspberries and seeds. 2 hard boiled eggs with mayo and one rasher cold bacon. Today hubby had the yoghurt, seeds , berries and an apple AND 2 crumpets with butter and bacon. Apparently 11:15 can be brunch where yesterday's 11:00 first food was only breakfast :banghead::arghh::facepalm:
3pm ish 4 plums just off the tree and 3seedy crackers and cheese
7pm pub half a roast chicken, salad and chips. Gave the chips to hubby to go with his lasagne and garlic bread. He ate the lot. He finished with sticky toffee pudding and cream, and there was me thinking he was finally understanding and enjoying low carb :banghead::arghh::facepalm:. It doesn't help when he says he can eat like this because he's "normal". I wouldnt wish diabetes on anyone but I sometimes think I'd like him to have an elevated reading just once.

Sorry, rant over

@Antje77 are you OK now?
Yes, very well, if a tad annoyed by diabetes. :)
Instead of dropping further I rose again, and I've been at a stubborn 7.something for the last couple of hours despite a rather aggressive correction bolus.
I know, I know, 7 is perfectly fine, especially after eating a ridiculous pasta meal, but I really don't like having no clue what my BG will likely do.
So despite being annoyed right now, I'm very happy low carb suits me so well, saves me a lot of thinking on normal low carb food days! :)

Morning all. @PenguinMum, hope you are ok after your injection, like most people, I cringe at the thought. I forgot to post yesterday and can only remember a slice of well buttered toast in the morning and a hm prawn cocktail for lunch but that's all I remember. My old car passed her MOT I'm very happy to say! Was really bothered that she wouldn't. Today, I've had a slice of buttered toast for bf, lunch is going to be 2 sausages with green veg and tonight's meal is still a mystery. Have a good day.

Omelette for breakfast with a slice of whole meal bread and lots of butter - also made the omelette with butter, so very high fat content today.

2nd meal will be some more of the chicken and tomato dish made the day before yesterday. I've put a whole lot in the freezer, but still have a fair bit to use up.

I finally got around to putting some red cabbage to ferment yesterday evening. It's actually produced a few bubbles already. It's a proper fermenting jar so it will more or less take care of itself - if I'd used ordinary jars, I would have forgotten to vent them when needed.

Also decided to roast off some red onions which I found in the bottom of the veg box, just to use them up. Not sure what to do with them - maybe onion soup but it might be a bit too sweet, or maybe just add small amounts to other soups over time.

Tried using the e-consult service offered by our GP practice this morning but it came back with the answer that I should contact my GP "urgently". I phoned for an appointment but, as usual they'll get the doctor to phone me back sometime over the next couple of days and see what he/she thinks. I'm not too bothered though, I've had this pain for about 6 weeks now, so another day or so won't matter too much. Self diagnosing isn't a good idea, I know but I'm beginning to wonder about my pancreas.

Think those 5 small slices of cucumber count as my 5 a day?

Tomorrow I'll cook for real again, with vegetables and stuff.
Today my main meal was a very satisfying two slices of low carb bread, halved and topped with Turkish sucuk; goat's cheese; Spanish ham; smoked fish/mayo with cucumber. :)

Last day of our holiday today so started with a wet dog walk, followed by a couple of spoons of hm lc yoghurt and seeds.
Then a frantic couple of hours trying to clean the place with wet and muddy dogs constantly getting in the way.
Stopped off at an old friend's for a late lunch. First time seen her since diagnosis and her partner is vegan, wasn't sure what to expect but she'd done salmon and salad and new potatoes and a vegan pie, strawberries and Elmlea 100% plant. The last was new product to me, seems low carb and not bad on the sugars but heavy on plant oils so I only had a teaspoonful.
Was really grateful she'd been so thoughtful
We didn't eat until about 3
6pm 2 hard boiled eggs
9pm cheese and lc crackers
so a bit of a bitty day.
back on track tomorrow, and back to working cooker yay!

Bacon, two egg and cheese, diced up corned silver silverside omelette, for breakfast.
No smoko.
Cold meat, mixed salad sandwiches for a light lunch. :meh:
Cottage pie with mashed pumpkin on my portion, green veggies for supper at six.

Single malt whisky before I went to bed early, and had a good nights sleep, andI feel real good this morning.

Edit: Spellin'...

Forgot to say, hubby did pay for his overeating carb fest with a night of stomach pains and indigestion...

Hello everyone
Yesterday and today brekkie slice LC toast and lots of tea.
Lunch yesterday was three s rambled eggs followed by three strawberries.
Supper was prawn & avocado salad.
Lunch today might have scrambled eggs again but ow tinned mackerel and the last avocado.
Supper will be chunky fish fingers and green veg.

Yesterday - brunch was a small piece of cheese, wasn't enough, so had another a couple of hours later! Dinner was prawn stir-fry - I make my own so lots of keto-friendly veg. Today - lunch will be lumpy soup to include the bean sprouts, a couple of water chestnuts, "strong" Italian salad leaves, and bamboo shoots left over from yesterday as well as the usual courgettes and leeks. Dinner will be steak or pork chop (not bought either yet) with asparagus and plenty of butter.

Breakfast: 1 slice of wholemeal toast with butter

2nd meal: the rest of the tomato and chicken dish that hasn't gone into the freezer yet.

GP phoned and said she thinks what I have had was shingles. Even though I have never had chickenpox and the rash doesn't sound like a shingles rash. She wants a photo of what remains of it to be sent to the skin man again and see what he thinks. Too late to do much now anyway so she is prescribing some patches to ease the pain of nerve damage and see if that helps. I don't like this new way of doctors not seeing patients if they can avoid it. It doesn't make for good diagnoses.

Been awol the last two days, spent at my late parents house getting it ready for the final clearance, we have an offer so fingers crossed the sale goes through. Stressful as my brother who was going to join me has covid, so I was sorting alone so no time to post food though I did stay low carb.
Anyway today;
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and an Aldi protein bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: chicken Balti curry and cauliflower rice followed by SF strawberry jelly and cream.

Edit to add, I brought back blackberries from the back garden, down on the south coast there were loads ready to eat!

Tuesday 2 August - bed 7.7 FBG 7.6.

B. TAG and a bit of crustless quiche.

L. Nothing

D. Bunless burger with Emmental cheese slice. Lettuce, tomatoes, burger slaw, mushrooms, halloumi and crispy bacon. Way too much!

Took the boys and Mum to the beach park to meet friends and play. It did give me a break from a deep clean of the bathrooms on what was a very humid day.

Wednesday 3 August - bed 7 FBG 7.4

Had the boys all day today. I had to bring them back to ours first as I was expecting a parcel from SLC and Hubby usn't very good at getting things in the fridge/freezer when they're a bit full! He was also busy making bolignese for their dinner later. They also decided they wanted lunch before we went anywhere. Thankfully, feeding the eating machines settled them down. I wanted to visit my SIL too and eldest came up with the bright idea if taking them to Tumbles - an enclosed giant softplay where they can run free and SIL & I can have a coffee! Great idea! Picked up SIL and 90 mins later, rwo hot, red faced, sweaty kids!

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche.

L Another bit crustless quiche.

D. Some of the bolognese with cauliflower cheese. OK it's a bit odd but I didn't have courgettes. A Nicks LC Coconut bar.

Totally agree. I'm fed up with we need to do x, y, z at the doctors but it will be a telephone consultation.
