What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Three hard boiled eggs, two slices vegimite on toast for breakfast.
Not much on the lunch menu , had a bowl of lemon / lime sorbet and a goodly portion of custard apple.
Chicken laksa, two slices of toast for supper at six.

Glass of single malt before I went to bed early.

Good news from the palliative care team, the infection in my leg is not psuedomonas ?, usial story of my skin throwing a fit with the dressing I have been using for years. Coming good now tho'.

Skipped breakfast.
Lunch: Choucroute with tiny bacon lardons, a bit of goose fat and cooked in a little wine (i reckon most of the alcohol evaporated in the cooking), 1/4 of a smoked sausage.
Dinner: Celery soup.... And a bowl of greek yogurt, a few blueberries and 1/2 tsp of stevia sugar substitute.

Coffee! (Made it extra strong this morning - slipped whilst pouring the good stuff into the press,)

Bacon, eggs and a handful of roasted chickpeas @ breakfast. Homemade yogurt after.
I have some flank steak slow cooking since 6am with mushrooms and herbs, so I'll have a good serving early afternoon with some sprouting broccoli from my garden.
*Fasting 18 hours until tomorrow.

Main event yesterday was 20% mince fried with chopped leftover lamb breast, couple rashers chopped smoked streaky bacon, onions, courgette and grated cheddar. No eggs mixed in as 3 types of meat plus cheese seemed like enough protein!

Before and after Greek yoghurt with cream and a couple of buttered slices of Schneider Brot protein bread.

Breakfast: Similar to yesterday - egg mash with turkey mince and crispy fried onions but no spring onions - all used yesterday.
2nd meal: Chicken thighs (2) with a few bits of leek and cauliflower done as a tray bake. The veggies are a bit of a risk but it was only a small amount to see what happens.

Seem to have a cold again! Testing negative for Covid.
So have had a very lazy day
B: small ff greek yog with seeds and raspberries
L: camembert with seedy crackers, cucumber. Coffee ice cream (for my sore throat you understand)
D: sausages, cooked with cabbage and sporuts and some gravy and onions from last nights casserole. Added some beans at the last minute.
Bg holding steady all day

So glad to be back to UK prices, especially cheese and veg. We could get decent cheese in US but at €8 for about 100-150g it was very much just a treat rather than a meal

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: hospital coffee shop cappuccino and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and another carb killa bar.
Dinner: chicken and chunky veg Rogan josh followed by SF blackcurrant jelly and cream.

pic of dinner was rubbish, so no pic today!

Ouch!

Evening all. Have not had a good day foodwise. Have been completely off in mood and discipline. Had a panini and a custard tart but did finish the day with chicken. My bg's have been high recently and for the last couple of days they have gone completely haywire. So when the light switch went on!, I put 2 new batteries in, and guess what? 6.9!! When I've been in the 9's and 10's! There's a word for it!!!!

Glad to have you back @Pipp
Where did you get your salt Marsh lamb from, please

B- cold air fried slice of belly pork and a cold h/b egg. Cleaning out fridge leftovers again!
L- lc sandwich of Turkey breast, cheese and chorizo.
Mid aft- tea with whole milk
D - slow cooker venison casserole with broccoli and cauliflower. 4 squares 70% chocolate and a handful of nuts. 2 glasses red.

Having not had much appetite today, suddenly at 11pm I get ravenous. Thought it was the cold clearing though, then thought again and it's actually dinner time back in Chicago.
Body's still in the wrong time zone.
Gave in and fed it cheese and a nut bar!
Be interesting to see bg in the morning

Coffee.

Breakfast: Left over oven-cooked bacon, cold (wasn't bad actually), 1/2 avocado and a couple of hardboiled eggs. 1/2 cup warm black turtle beans soaked overnight and pressure cooked in the instant pot - dressed with olive oil, salt and vinegar.

Lunch: Left over beef casserole from yesterday, salad of cucumber, lettuce, walnuts, celery and blue cheese.
Matcha tea blended with mct oil.
I don't log everything I eat in any formal way, but I know I went over the carbohydrate number I generally try to stick to, mostly because of the black beans. Anyway, at a rough estimate, today's carbohydrate count looks to be a bit over 30 grams compared to my usual 20 grams.

Yesterday - I'm another person eating an immense Barnsley chop for dinner! With cabbage and cauliflower. Lunch was a piece of cheese and an avocado. Oh, and two fresh hazelnuts from the woods.

Today's brunch will be the same as yesterday's but without the hazelnuts, and dinner will be roast chicken with cauliflower and cabbage again.

Started the day with chicken mayo in a wrap (new ones bought from Amazon - 2g net carbs per tortilla). The ingredients list didn't give me any alarm so I thought all would be well. However ... tried to calm my stomach with some Rennies. It hasn't worked. In fact, it seems to have made it worse. The only issue I can see was fumaric acid. No idea what that is or what it does - to the product or to me. More for the compost bucket.

I'll make some tea and see if it will remain where I put it.

Just checked the website below:

They say this:
"There were little reports regarding its side effects, but it may trigger some allergy symptoms such as headaches, diarrhea, nausea, and other reactions to people who are allergic to it."

Of course, if anyone is going to be sensitive to it, it's going to be me. Maybe that's what today's problem is.
